Yes, I know there's passionate fans of every single genre of music out there ranging from folk to rap, etc
But it seems to me that Oasis fans are, as a collective group, one of the most passionate.
NO ONE I know loves a particular band as much as I/We love Oasis.
MY 2 best friends LOVE U2, but they don't go on and on about them as most of us do with people we know with Oasis.
Maybe thats cos I'm in America and I have to constantly defend the band, I don't know.
But look at the gigs all across England, Europe, Asia, and S. America - the crowds are fucking mental (again, shame the Americans have a different mindset, I'd love to see Oasis in a "proper" setting).
But you don't get that atmosphere at Coldplay gigs, do you? Killers? Even the forum-wide-loved Kasabian?
I guess it's in part that Oasis means so much to us. Surely they're really only remaining bands who came up through the working class to accomplish this while keeping to their values despite being and living as rich fuckers.
There's something truly genuine about this band, and I think that that's the spark that will never be ignited again, that's the quality that makes Oasis so very special.
Enough musing.

The atmosphere at Coldplay gigs is different because people of all ages go to Coldplay gigs - you'll see mums & dads with their children and even sometimes their grannies. They have a much wider span of fans if you will - resulting in lots of "casual" fans. Oasis, on the other hand, are only for people who really like them. At least outside Britain - thus the crowd being made up of mostly hardcore Oasis fans. That's my observation of about 8 Oasis gigs and three Coldplay gigs.

But you don't get that atmosphere at Coldplay gigs, do you? Killers? Even the forum-wide-loved Kasabian? You certainly get that kind of atmosphere at Kasabian gigs, and from what I've seen of Coldplay I'd say the atmosphere there is comparable with Oasis. Different, certainly, but that's not to say worse. Their music doesn't lend itself to physical exertion, but the fans are passionate nonetheless, and sing along to every word in just the same way as Oasis fans do. I'm not trying to kick off an argument here, by the way, merely suggesting that there are different ways to express passion for a band, and that passion doesn't equate to smacking lumps out of one another.

Fans at Oasis concerts are very vocal and passionate. Similar to a soccer match.
But almost every concert i go to, fans of a particular band can be just as passionate. They just display it differently.
Take, Paul Weller or Ocean Colour Scene. Their respective fans can be seen wearing clarks shoes, cord trousers, Ben Sherman shirt with mod haircut. Some real obsessive fans.
I think all artists have their own passionate fans.

My parents went with me to my first oasis gig and neither of them were huge fans they liked a few songs and such. Even though the American crowds are a lot quieter than the ones in other countries my dad said it was the best concert he ever went to.

To be honest, aside from the few obsessives, Ive never heard anyone boasting about Oasis. However there is something about Oasis, they mean something special to people, which regardless of how good they are I really dont think U2 carry the same charm. Except perhaps here in Ireland. Personally I think U2s music is slightly better but Oasis have a great fanbase who all hold the same passion for the band. Which makes me proud to be an Oasis fan.

Well, for as for rock bands Oasis has the most passionate fans. As for actors actor Christian Bale has the most passionate fans - the Baleheads. I happen to be part of both fan groups. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I don't know about the most passionate in terms of shouting it out on the streets and having shitloads of merchandise but when it comes to the love people have towards the band and what the band means to them, then yeah, damn passionate.
What I love about Oaiss fans is that when you meet them you just basically gotta say "Well Oasis are... oh damn you know it." And they get this certain look into their eyes and say "yeah I know." There's no need for words, just general understanding that exists.
