I'm voting SOTSOG as the clear winner on this one. What a fantastic album and I hope to get some good debate going on this one

Oh SOTSOG by an absolute mile. It's my favourite Oasis album and BHN is my least favourite. SOTSOG is so interesting and is experimental and different from their previous albums. It flows like a complete package (admitedly, I Can See A Liar does disrupt it a tad) and features some of the best and most interesting Noel songwriting (once again, ICSAL not withstanding) around. A severely underated album in my opinion.
Whilst Be Here Now does get a raw deal sometimes from critics, I do think that it's also become a bit overated by some of the die-hard fans...perhaps because it's the last remainder of the old Oasis sound. It does contain some absolutely brilliant songs, but overall the vibe of it is pretty bland and uninspired and to call it Oasis' best album is, IMO, ludicrous. As a complete album, it's too long and bloated but does feature the amazing Stand By Me, Don't Go Away and one of my favourites The Girl In The Dirty Shirt.

I voted BHN Narrowly, Its a tough call. I love both albums about evenly, however BHN is def more likely to be liked by the avg fan. SOTSOG has some pretty terrible lyrics on it, ie Little James, I Can See A Liar.....

Sorry for the long post, but I'm the only person who's voted this way as of now. I went with Be Here Now as the clear winner.
I'll admit that BHN is not as inspired as SOTSOG, but it exudes a swagger that hasn't been repeated in the albums since. And I think it is a more consistent album. Don't get me wrong, Gas Panic and Go Let it Out are great, and many of the others are very good, but 30% of the album is taken up by Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is, Little James, and I Can See a Liar. That's a bit too much filler for such a short album.
Be Here Now, on the other hand, is pretty consistent top to bottom until the completely unnecessary reprise was tacked on to the end. The album's singles are among the best songs the band has put out, and the remainder of the songs are all good. Yes, Magic Pie is too long, but it's a decent tune and it doesn't mention plasticine. Yes, I cringe when I hear, "Sing a song for me, one from Let it Be," but not as much as I do during I Can See a Liar.
So in my opinion, Be Here Now is the better record. It's long, it's extravagant, but it's Oasis in all their coke-fueled glory with Noel Gallagher still on his song-writing A-game.

I vote SOTSOG, but if Lets All Make Believe, One Way Road and Solve My Mystery/Rev Song had been included instead of the "3 shitty tracks" (substitutions I always make if I'm doing comp CDs, it would have wiped the floor with BHN.
Both are fabulous though, some days when I'm burned out on SOTSOG - I listen to it a lot - I prefer the ear-assaulting bombast of BHN.

SOTSOG - although the worst tracks (3 of them) are worse than the worst on BHN (soz for the slight tongue twister), it's much more consistent with great tracks, unlike BHN which has a few great tracks, while the rest is just mediocre.

I voted BHN narrowly.
I like both albums, but consistency (as seems to be the common factor in people's votes either way) is the reason I chose BHN. While their are some brilliant songs on SOTSOG, I very rarely listen to that album all the way through (even if we take Little James out completely), whereas I listen to BHN a lot.
I just prefer the sound of the album - it's one of my favourite Oasis albums, so I was always going to vote that way

Personally, BHN sounds like Oasis. SOTSOG is when they stopped being Oasis.

I love both albums. But Be Here Now is an all time classic. It captures everything Oasis is all about, and is timeless. Be Here Now clear winner.

SOTSOG is an album I've been listening to a lot in the past year. Well written, fantasticall produced, and the weak songs aren't even that bad. They are catchy and whatnot, maybe just not with the finest lyrics. But the albums flows like magic and I will never tire of it!

Taking the piss even asking this.
D'You Know What I Mean alone is better than the entire SOTSOG-era combined and doubled and dipped in gold.

Mad poll result. I suspect the results would be different ten years later though.
