I thought Webbo would make an official thread, he's mad fer Donovan ;D so here we are. one easy group for Spain and a tough one for Brazil, Italy, Egypt and USA. South Africa tied vs Iraq, and we made 5 goals in a training with public. Today matches have been much better, Brazil winning in the last minute by a penalti, and Italy making their usual game. Egypt trainer said the referee didn't see the hands in the penalty, and it was the 4th referee who saw it on video. Do you have any news about it? is that true? I hope not And Italy, they were losing but scored 3 goals. the first one by Rossi was great, the second one was a fuck up by the US defender who failed to hit the ball, and the third was just incredible, Pirlo has class USA got a red card in 1st half, maybe they were too tired at the end. but any team who tries to defend a tie vs Italy gets this, they should have tried to attack them more after the 1-1. I wanna see Italy vs Brazil, the loser will meet Spain in semifinals

Brazil were a mess. Egypt played much better in the second half and it could be argued that they deserved a 4th goal. Dunga is an idiot and the current crop of Brazilian players isn't good enough. And, Gilberto Silva? Really? Fuck Off, Dunga.
Only caught the last 20 minutes of the Italy match. USA should've had a penalty when they were down 2-1. Great goals by Rossi.
Egypt were a nice surprise. I'm looking forward to Brazil vs Italy and the semi-final match against Spain.
Spain is playing at a very high level and their a joy to watch. Even if they don't win this or the World Cup they're the best team in the world right now.

US should have put 2 away before the PK by Donovan, our kid Altidore (19) just fucked up big time red card , don't think so A New Jersey Kid (Rossi) kills us in the end, go figure

bad luck for the yanks, you're out. And Egypt made a great job. Italy ALWAYS plays this way, they know they have the luck by their side, and when it is not, they fail. This makes bigger the next match between them and Brazil, I wanna see Kaká facing Cannavaro ;D

Was posting these high lights and was surprised to hear the commentator say God is Great several times after the second goal.
Would anyone know if that is customary during sporting events in the middle east ? (sorry I don't know enough to identify the country of origin for this broadcast)

poor Spain. ;D every time the same. whenever they're the big scary fury before a big tournament, they end up with their hands empty...

It's a bit like Oldham beating Man U. It shouldn't happen but there are times when all logic is defied.

that defeat will only be good for Spain. Can you imagine the amount of pressure they would've had if they went into the WC with a 50+ undefeated streak? Although Spain has a history of underperforming whenever they are the favorites in big tournaments.
