I felt the need to drop something in this forum. Mainly because I don't want to benefit from the hard work of the people adding content to this forum without first acknowledging it. I signed up for this account back in 2007 but I have only just started to use this forum over the past few days. I've been downloading or buying Oasis bootlegs for some time now and so this forum seems a fantastic resource. Most of the others I have used in the past are tapped.
I'm 24 and I'm from the North East of England. In many ways I feel I was of the perfect age to be caught up in the media frenzy caused back in 1994. I have quite a broad appreciation of many kinds of music I suppose you could say, from Britpop to Blues to Metal with some electronica and God knows what else in between. Genre is irrelevant to me, If I enjoy it then I enjoy it but I will concede to being one of those infuriatingly opinionated people when it comes to music.
A lot of Oasis fans annoy me I must admit, a lot of Oasis fans seem to be very narrow minded and critical of a lot of other music tastes and I encountered such people just a few days ago at the gig at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. However I am glad to say that these people are in the minority and a lot of Oasis fans seem to simply need to share in one common love which is the band themselves which is more than cool by me.
I was 10 when Definitely Maybe was released and Oasis were the first real, honest band I ever developed a love for. My music taste before Oasis was certainly questionable and whether people like or dislike what my music taste has become I can safetly say that it was ultimately shaped by this band's music. I know I'm not alone in sharing the opinion that I will probably never love another Oasis album as much as I love Definitely Maybe, and in fact I stopped comparing Oasis records to that one a long time ago when forming an opinion of it. I will however always buy their new ones when they come out, buy a ticket for the tour and look to experience as much of that tour as I can with places like this.
Thanks for the downloads, not to mention the work and the effort.
Peace.

I got into Oasis in June 2004, don't laugh me, but I got into them while watching their performance at Glasto on TV at home. I bought Definitely Maybe and Heathen Chemistry a few days later.
I love music, all kinds of music. The Smiths, The Jam and Oasis are my life time bands.
I hope you'll share your thoughts not only about Oasis, but about music in general, other bands, gigs...with us on this great place.
Take care and welcome.

Why would I laugh at you? Are you refering to the year or the quality of the Glasto performance? I actually thought the quality of that performance was far better than a lot of people seem to. The Jam were another of the first bands I got into. When I first started to get into bands (I say bands because most of what I liked before was barely passable as music) I got into Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, The Beatles, The Jam, Embrace and others but mainly your staple classic rock and indie/britpop bands. I don't listen to much of the Jam anymore to be honest, even though I still like them, but I do listen to The Smiths. The Smiths were a remarkable band and given your avatar I feel I don't need to preach of the talent of Johnny Marr! In some circles he gets all the credibility he deserves as a guitarist yet I still feel he's vastly under-rated. I got into Oasis because my sister liked music and worked in a record shop, I really wasnt all that into music at the time. I'd heard her play Definitely Maybe and then when she started playing Morning Glory around the clock I stole both CD's until she bought me my own. By the time Be Here Now came out I was enough of a fan to go out and get it the day it came out. I also skipped school to go and buy SOTSOG and Familiar to Millions
