With all these superstars lining up to play for Madrid, will that make them unbeatable? No. Madrid seem to forget that it's a football TEAM, and all the players have to compliment one another. No matter how good your players are, you have to get the balance right, so ultimately Ronaldo won't be as successful as he was at Man Utd, because they have the right balance . Plus the fact Madrids defence is fucking woeful. If I were a Man Utd fan (and there are quite a few on this forum), I would quite happily accept 80m for a greased up playboy who thinks he's above all things Man Utd, plus the fact the twats absence will free up Wayne Rooney (proven to be more crucial for Man Utd than Ronaldo) will only benefit Man Utd, plus the fact they will be able to buy a quality team player with the funds. For fellow opposition fans (Arsenal for me) it will be a huge relief now that this arrogant c*nt has gone.

Have to say I'm disappointed. I expected better of United. Someone needed to stand up to Real Madrid and show them that they can't just expect to fucking steamroller over everyone just because they're content throwing wads of cash around. In the past week they've effectively spent £136m on two players, and such reckless spending should be unthinkable in the current economic climate. Even successful clubs like United and Liverpool are dangling over a financial precipice, reduced to quibbling over a couple of million in order to sign the likes of Carlos Tevez.
So you Madrid fans shouldn't be celebrating. You should be ashamed that your club will behave in such a contemptuous manner. They show no respect for anyone: not the clubs, not even the footballers that they so relentlessly pursue. They're little more than expensive commodities bought to appease the impatience of their fans, ones who'll only be discarded should they fail to bring you the success that you seem to think yourselves entitled to.
I sincerely hope it all goes very, very wrong.

We just sold our best player, but i guess with him wanting to leave we couldn't have done anything. Relieved to see the back of his theatrics and that the saga's over, but in no way i can say that I'm happy about it. He's by far the best player I've ever seen play tbh.
Hope the money goes staright into Fergie's hands. This 80 mill added to the money we already had to spend should let us get some big names; personally I'd go for Benzema and Ribery.

So if that would have happened, would you now be slaggin your team off for turning down £80 million in todays economic climate?

So if that would have happened, would you now be slaggin your team off for turning down £80 million in todays economic climate? No, because we could afford to keep him. I'd be slagging my team off if they went out and spent £80m on one player.

Valencia, good player. Not in the same league.
At the moment, there is only one player that could replace Ronaldo and thats Messi. Anyone else is a step backwards.

Anyone else is a step backwards. of course we won't replace him in terms of quality, i am just wondering if ferguson will get another player of give anderson, nani or gibson a bigger chance also hargreaves should be back after a season out.
