They're shit, I never liked them. I don't care how influential they are.

Important yes. Good, not really. But I don't think thats the point. You had to be there I suppose. I'm more of a Clash man myself.

I think both Liam and Noel are high on them. They're one of those bands where you probably had to be there to really get them. Regardless, I think they're shit. Influential without a doubt, but still shit. "Headache inducing noise" is a good way to describe them.
Clash > Pistols

Pistols have done what/everything someone has never done before them.
They made Joe Strummer who was playing with his 102's think his band were a "yesterday's paper" and wanted him to start a something new. Young Morrissy and Weller were the witnesses of the page of the history the Pistols made.
You don't have to "get them" or don't even have to "listen" to them, live4evr. "Never Mind The Bollocks" was a good album and they had a "great" manager who knew how to earn as much as money in a short term, unlikely Burnie, the manager of The Clash.
BTW, Joe Strummer was a great, great, great man. We don't have someone like him these days.

The Pistols werent shit. people who say they couldnt play an instrument or write songs should listen to the The Shaggs and get a clue. They had catchy tunes, Steve & Paul knew how to play very well and Lydon had a great powerfull and wicked voice, not to mention that hes very clever & talented as heard on P.I.L records. yeah i think listening to them after yer 16 is abit sad, but they werent only rude, they were talented.

Jones was a great guitar player, no doubt. Vicious was absolutely worthless though, Matlock should of stayed instead of being replaced by that worthless bag of shit. Why hes glorified by some, I have no idea.

I love The Sex Pistols. People who say they can't play their instruments are idiots. Just another example of NL4E being an ignorant yankee twat.

well the songs are catchy as hell and jones was a tight guitarist. its cool he was just playing rhythm guitar with the od fill yet it sounds so good.
every song on the album is solid. and i dont see why the clash has anything to do with it i know same country same time but theyre completely different bands arnt they like comparing blur and oasis haha.

Whilst they weren't the most talented of performers, they definitely had a massive impact on music at the time, a breath of fresh air and something that the kids were crying out for, a band with real attitude and aggression. Even if you hate them, you still have them to thank for inspiring bands like The Jam and The Clash (not to mention Oasis). I really think that the music industry of today needs another Sex Pistols, another kick up the arse to move things along.. no?

NMTB is better than the pick of Kasabians discography. And they're a far more influential band
