Anyone who's given TSOTL full marks wants fucking shooting. Live Forever is 10 on 10. Champagne Supernova is 10 on 10. Compared to songs like those two, TSOTL is barely even a six. Have a word with yourselves, the lot of you. Fucking. SPOT. ON.

Bag It Up - An instant classic. Comes with an extreme force not heard since Be Here Now. 10 The Turning - Maintains the power from the first track, but a bit less intriguing. 8 Waiting For The Rapture - Sensational Noel track. Modern Oasis at its best. 10 Shock Of The Lightning - As good as Bring It On Down. 10 I'm Outta Time - Liam goes back 13 years in time and delivers a track that easily had fit in on Morning Glory. Big surprise. 10 Get Off Your High Horse Lady - I don't really get this song. It's all right, but not more. A filler. 6 Falling Down - Psychedelia^10. Capturing new grounds for Oasis and another huge surprise. 9 To Be Where There's Life - Better live, but still a very interesting track. Again, a tune that doesn't sound like anything else Oasis have done. Arrogant in the way Oasis should be. 8 Ain't Got Nothing - Yet another sensation. When I first heard the demo I hated it, but it works in its short form. Rough. 8 The Nature of Reality - A filler on this album. Fits in well as an album track, but quite weak when it stands alone. 5 Soldier On - Another big Liam surprise. At first, I thought it was a new Better Man, but this is another track on this album that inhibits the supernatural force that was Oasis on their first three albums. 8
No album has ever surprised me as much as Dig Out Your Soul did. I was expecting something like Don't Believe The Truth, or a bit better. Instead we got a classic. Oasis is back. One of the 10 best albums I've ever heard (up there just behind Oasis' three first, with Revolver, Sgt Pepper's, The Stone Roses and Suede's Coming Up) and definitely the best of this decade. The strength of this album is greater than the sum of the individual tracks.
Albums: DM 10+ WTSMG 10+ BHN 10+ SOTSOG 7 HC 7 DBTT 8 DOYS 10

^^^^ and I seriously think that Noel could release the best album ever and some of you would still be like "oh I miss the huge sound of the old days. 2/10" Completely agree. Anyway onto the topic at hand: Bag It Up- 9.0 (still so exciting when it first bursts on) The Turning- 8.5 Waiting For The Rapture- 9.0 (such a grower) The Shock of the Lightning- 8.5 I'm Outta Time- 8.0 Get Off Your High Horse Lady- 7.5 (another grower, very interesting) Falling Down- 9.0 To Be Where There's Life- 7.5 (after hearing the live version, the studio version pales in comparison a bit.) Ain't Got Nothing- 7.0 The Nature Of The Reality- 5.0 Soldier On- 6.0 Very good, very interesting album. It sounds like the band tried to do something different...they didn't succeed completely but definitely set em selves up nicely for the next one. Overall, on my album rankings: (which I know is definitely not the usual rankings of most other fans...) 1. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants 2. Don't Believe The Truth 3. Morning Glory 4. Dig Out Your Soul 5. Definitely Maybe 6. The Masterplan 7. Heathen Chemistry 8. Be Here Now

I think "Dig Out Your Soul" is an amazing album and perhaps their third best album.
"Bag It Up" - (10/10) "The Turning" - (10/10) "Waiting for the Rapture" - (10/10) "The Shock of the Lightning" - (10/10) "I'm Outta Time" - (10/10) "(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady" - (7/10) "Falling Down" (10/10) "To Be Where There's Life" - (8/10) "Ain't Got Nothin'" - (7/10) "The Nature of Reality" - (7/10) "Soldier On" - (7/10)
First half of the album is definitely as good as the "Definitely Maybe" and "Morning Glory" albums.

Bag It Up 8/10 - Solid opener The Turning - 8/10 Waiting For The Rapture - 8/10 - 9 for the alternative version. The Shock Of The Lightning - 9/10 - Vintage Oasis. I'm Outta Time - 7/10 - Needs another verse (Get Off Your)High Horse Lady - 5/10 - Gets boring very quickly Falling Down - 8/10 - Good song, shame it doesn't work live. To Be Where Theres Life - 7/10 - 8 for any live version, the album version lacks something though. Ain't Got Nothin' - 4/10 - Should be nowhere near an Oasis album. Nature Of Reality - 3/10 - I usually like Andy's songs but this is shit. Solder On - 3/10 - Never understood why everyone on here seems to love this. Marginally better than Better Man.
