He's holding notes longer here than in any other video I've seen. Could it be the best performance yet?
Edit: This one's pretty good too:

Noel hit the wrong note at 2:46 while playing Champagne Supernova ! Other than that, great performances.

Wherever the Citibank Hall show was (Rio?), the vocals were amazing, best I've seen for a LONG time.

Id say that without those nodule things, Liam would be as good as 1995-97

Id say that without those nodule things, Liam would be as good as 1995-97 I'd agree. He still has his voice when he's singing in a small venue, it's just that he can't shout the songs out like he used to be able to anymore. Champagne Supernova at the rehearsal gig sounds like a 1996 performance:

If Liam gets the nodules removed (which he will after this world tour), he will have the same voice as during the jools holland performance where he looks like Lennon.
not to mention, the album will sound fuckin ace.

Liam's voice IS holding up..
The real test for me in gigs is SA, CS and funninly enough C& A ( you could wait for a life..to spend your days in the sun-shinee-ee) bits The tester to see if lIAM IS ON FORM I would add lyla..but i havnt heard a good version of this since Johnny Ross 2005 12.05.05 (yesterday, 4 years ago lol) Alcatraz..and that was with (if you listen to it on youtube, bootleg) with a back up track behind his voice..to almost cover up kermit-ness
So yes liam is doing good on DOYS Tour- especially if he his nodules He is doig better than DBBT the notable blips on this tour have been
Im outta time (berlin 2009) abortion of... and I would say wembley (2008) were on BOTH occasions he had sore threats so its excusable
The improving factors are He isnt cutting his sentences he seems to have better delivery, simply sounding more tuneful
however
there is room for improvement He could attempt to hold the notes on
You could wait for a lifetime to spend you days in the sun-shinneee..I dont mean hold it for ages but at least to Boston 2005 standard and he could also hold the note on the 'worlds still spin....we dont know why-yy' for longer than 2 seconds
Those are my personal things i look out for when i look to see if Liam is going good in a gig
Concluding
I know that Liam has been singing the older songs for a decade and a half..and he can do with them what he likes The point is for me i'd like him to see him do these things to prove to me he's a good singer, consistently
I know he can sing for goodness sakes
GM VANCOVER STANDING ON THE EDGE
SOUTH AFRICA 2009 PERU 2009
are some good examples of a good liam gig
Its heading on the right track, but Personally i'd like to see him get even better

I wouldn't go by the first video (Champagne Supernova) too much because it's an audience recording which always sounds good because the crowd masks it. You can only tell from actual pro footage and on that basis it's still ropey more times than not.

Especially with C&A...I love how much better Liam is sounding this tour, it gives me so much more hope for future gigs and future albums...but with, C&A I cringe most of the time...its the one he can't pull off anymore, and it really shows his weaknss. That's why i would much prefer if they gave it a rest from being a setlist regular, its almost embarassing.

I should also add that Lyla from Vancouver 2008 is definitely among the best versions...he nails that awkward first part.

You're right, I forgot to mention that one. Best Slide Away since Knebworth probably.
