Don't just rate it based on your liking of the Enemy in general, rate it if only you listened to the new album and gave it a chance.

For me? 4/5.

Elephant Song, No Time for Fears, 51st State, Sing When You're In Love, Be Somebody are all ace

My only criticism? They really need to stop ripping off songs so blatantly --> Nation of Checkout Girls = Pulp's Common People, Don't Break the Red Tape = Clash's London Calling (although the guitar solo is fucking ace in that).

Sure, our beloved Oasis rips off so many bands in so many places, and sure, it's obvious, but Noel borrows rifts here and there, not the entire song or singing voice. They have shown evidence of their own vibe (obv inspired by The Jam and Oasis), no need to blatantly copy others so much.

But those 5 songs I mentioned, maybe 6 including Silver Spoon (need to give that one more of a listen) are phenomenal.

They're catchy, they have good lyrics - albeit speaking in generalities.

Looking at the reviews on here of the album (Rock N Roll Section), the reviews on the UK iTunes (4/5 from 37 voters) it seems like the average listener (read: average citizen) really likes the album.

What the fuck is wrong with some of the music critics, namely NME (5/10? Really? Never!), here? It's a MASSIVE improvement from their average-ish debut album. The full, wall of sound works really well.

The 2 standouts: 51st State, and even more so - Sing When You're In Love (that one is just fucking ace - GREAT lyrics, and the ending? So fucking monumentally catchy).

Album of the year, so far imo. But many months and many albums to go through. 4/5.
