Remember months ago Noel stated that the next album is pretty much written and done, etc?
Well, he's stated in Q recently that:
“The last three albums have been three years in between,” he says, “but I see it as likely to be longer this time. We’ve arrived at the point I wanted to be at from when Gem [Archer] and Andy [Bell] joined the band. And the last time we did that was at the end of Be Here Now, and we rushed the next album [Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants]. There was no inspiration on it. Even before the end of making each Oasis album, I’ve always started writing the next one, and I haven’t this time. I don’t want to force it.” --------------------
Complete contradiction.
We all know that Noel bullshits a lot, we also know that plans change (ie how DOYS wasn't suppose to be a "groovy" album until that dumb yank Sardy gave his 2 cents).
But which one is real and which one isn't?
There's a tendency to believe the more recent claim that Noel hasn't started writing their 8th LP yet, because, obviously, to to the recentness.
But then, at the same time, the band talked about MANY songs left over from the DBTT session, the fact that DOYS didn't include the songs that were initially wanted (like RM, for example), and add the fact that I'm sure Noel's written/worked on a few songs over the tour, makes me believe that surely he has enough material for the next album, and has perhaps even decided what will make the cut - prompting a quicker release than usual, say around 2011? (3 years after DOYS)?
So, which is it: Has Noel written the next album or not? I really don't know, but I'd bet he has, but is just unsure if he wants to stick with that plan, hence the hesitation and contradiction (that's just my take on this perplexing situation, mind).

Hasn't written it. 5 - 6 year break before next album I bet. Hell, Noel's got a brand new son, I'm pretty sure the man wants to be there 100% for his only sons childhood.

To be quite honest, this is fucking pointless speculating these sort of things. When will it happen? God knows and that's all.

I think you've misunderstood something. Did he say he had actually finished the next album? Or did he says he had demoed an album worth of material while recording DOYS? I picked it up as the latter.

he also said that after DBTT, but while recording DOYS they rather write new stuff.... it just means that Noel wrote more 11 songs or so, it doesn't mean it's gonna be the new album...

Did anyone believe him in the first place? He talks shite. I don't think it'll be 5 years til the next album either.
