Im fed up of all the oasis die hards wearing tinted glasses (oasis my fav band ) the gospel truth in the cold light of day is this, they try to use the beatles to influence them ,liam will never b lennon , im outta time will never b up there with (imagine) and did they ever bloody stop to think the beatles released an album once somtimes two every year ....NOT EVERY 3-4YRS!!!!! AND TO ALL THOSE WHO THINK DIG OUT YOUR SOUL MERITS 3 YRS WORK !!! UTTER RUBBISH ..it wouldnt even have made a b-side in the b here now era , THE STONE ROSES ALBUM IS 20 YEARS OLD ..and i think its BETTER !! than dig out your soul my point is people still listen to the roses album I Wanna Be Adored 2. Waterfall 3. She Bangs The Drums 4. Don't Stop 5. Bye Bye Badman 6. Elizabeth My Dear 7. Song For My Sugar Spun Sister 8. Made Of Stone 9. Shoot You Down 10. This Is The One 11. I Am The Resurrection NOW DOES ANYONE THINK THEY SHALL STILL B LISTENING TO DIG OUT YOUR SOUL IN 20 YRS TIME!!!

I agree totally. Dig Out Your Soul doesn't merit 3 years work. The problem being the bands choice of direction I reckon, cos I hope for the love of God they have enough songs between them to not even bring songs like Aint Got Muffin, Soldier On and TNOR into the equasion. It sometimes bothers me that they don't just put their 12 best tracks onto one album, but as mentioned it was a deliberate choice to go down the groovy path. Noel said in a recent interview, that the band have reached their goal- their work since SOTSOG has lead up to this moment so maybe we'll see a different approach to things next time round. This could turn into a motherfucking long post ala NL4E cos we could spend all night discussing wether or not the band should take a more commercial approach to their next record or if they should (like they did with DBTT and DOYS) release an album of stuff they enjoy doing. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to a Noel solo album more than the next Oasis album.

i take it your more of a Roses fan than Oasis
some good points especially regarding how long it takes for an album
but then it would be interesting to look at HOW LONG & WHERE both Oasis and The Beatles tour, whether Oasis tour for longer etc
but then OASIS have far outlasted The Beatles, The Beatles wouldnt have worked in the 80's for example

its a mostly brilliant album its just got two or three filler tracks on it ill definitely still be listening to it 20 years down the line and when IWLIADIMRM/CO(IA) get released just swap them for the tracks you dont like in your WMP playlist, but id have to agree that the stone roses is a better album

Why are you comparing Dig Out Your Soul to The Stone Roses album? You might as well just pull any classic album out of your ass and say DOYS isn't as good. DOYS is still a great album even if it isn't as good as Abbey Road, Live at Leeds or In the Court of the Crimson King.

WTF
You're comparing two different things. The Stone Roses (album) is more comparable to WTSMG - they're both melodic. While DOYS is similar to The Second Coming - more rocking and groove based.
As gor your other claim? I'm not having that, either. The Turning would have made it on BHN, TSOTL could have made it on either DM, WTSMG, or BHN, SO could have fitted at the end of SOTSOG (although I do personally like RIO a lot more), then there's WFTR which is just ace.....
Sorry, I don't agree at all with your mind numbing criticism of the album. Fuck off to a Coldplay forum, please.

m8 i hate coldplay and the fact that 217 ppl so far have read this most of them must agree with me cos if the didnt theyd all b clambering on here to slate me ,while am here to the guy that says DOYS is similar to The Second Coming - more rocking and groove based. FUCK OFF!!! dont talk shite ,what exactly is rocking on dig out your soul? Breaking into heaven,Tears ,Ten storey love song ,how do you sleep ,driving south now THATS WHAT YOU CALL ROCKING AND THATS WHAT YOU CALL GUITAR SOLOS!!!!! I listen to oasis more there my fav band, but the roses a close second ,I FUCKING HATE COLDPLAY!!! .All i ask is for people to stop kidding themselves, if DIG OUT YOUR SOUL was released by an unknown band ,they (PUBLIC)would overlook ,the shock of the lightning as an oasis rip off and say falling down was ok but the rest was shite .

Second Coming isn't shit, its just not what most Roses fans wanted...Theres some good songs on it. Well, there's Breaking Into Heaven, Love Spreads, and Ten Storey Love Songs. I can't stomach the rest, if I wanted Led Zeppelin I'd listen to Led Zeppelin.
