WTF. Just looking back at some of my previous posts and I stumbled across something pretty big... Perhaps I missed this first time around (although no one else seems to have mentioned it), perhaps Bonhams updated the page (hence the 'Amended' title) or perhaps the site wasn't working properly last time? Whatever. The site 'now' shows a description of the long sold alternative notebook with the following passage: A book of lyrics and notes compiled by Noel Gallagher, one page initialled NG and dated Nov.23.94, comprising his handwritten lyrics in various inks for 'Feeling Like I Think...', 'Rainy Summertime', 'On'n'On', 'Starchild', 'Callin' All', 'Roll With It', ' All Around The World', 'Hello!', 'Rockin' Chair', 'Going Nowhere', 'Not Finished-Untitled' (this eventually released as 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday'), 'Step Out Tonight', 'Champagne Supernova' and 'She's Electric'; with various track listings, and other notes such as Teeth Falling Out Is Guilt About Masturbation, a sketch of a heart and arrow inscribed Music + Me 4 Ever, and a list of songs headed Rebbelius Jukebox (sic) and Noel's comments on them, for example, of his number one listing, 'Ticket To Ride' by the Beatles, he writes, ...the greatest song ever written..., and of the Jam's 'Snap!', '...(they) were the first band I was really into I remember seeing them do Eton Rifles on the Whistle Test or The Tube or something and Wellers speeding to f*** giving it loads I just sat there going ''Wow!'', an A4 lined pad, some pages looseNot only do we now know why Noel really had his teeth replaced ( ) but we also now have tangible evidence of a new list of unreleased or early song titles (With the later being more likely due to the identification of 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday'): - Feeling Like I Think...- Rainy Summertime- On'n'On- Starchild...the reappearance of one songs from Noel 1993 notebook (as seen on Mr Monobrow's website): - Callin' All...and the appearance of nine post Definitely Maybe Tracks: - Roll With It- All Around The World- Hello!- Rockin' Chair- Going Nowhere- Not Finished-Untitled [AKA Bonehead's Bank Holiday] - Step Out Tonight [sic] - Champagne Supernova
- She's ElectricSpeculation time ladies and gents! I'll take this opportunity to bring up some of the more obvious ones. Take everything with a massive pinch of salt... pure speculation: - Is Starchild it an early title for Angel Child? Noel's 1993 notebook had the song title Angel Face. Are all these the same song? Does the fact that Bonham's pointed out Bonehead's Bank Holiday account for the fact that Starchild is a unique song, or is it lazy research on their part? Perhaps it wasn't in a recognisable form? - Rainy Summertime... perhaps an early title for Some Might Say? The song sure has plenty of references to sunshine, rain, thunder and brighter days. I think there is evidence to believe that Some Might Say is one of the earlier (WTS)MG? tracks, yet it's name does not appear amongst the tracks we know of ( Hello!, Roll With It, etc.). Is this because it's hiding under different title? The Bonham's question? - A long shot but could Feeling Like I Think... be Hey Now!? It seems to have some references feelings... who knows? Anyway interesting stuff with a touch of gold dust sprinkled in there. Add em' to the list. Great findings! How could I miss this post? Nice work as usual The Crimson Rambler and asimarx (and will97smith too!)

Maybe I'm ignorant, but I've never seen this particular set of (very interesting) original lyrics for Roll With It before: Roll With It1)You gotta roll with it,You gotta take your time,You gotta say what you say don’t let anyobody get in your way,Cos It’s all too much for me to take.2)You gotta keep it [wide/wise],Don’t ever be denied,You gotta be who you be if your coming with me,I think I’ve gotta a feelin’ I'm lost inside,I think I’m gonna take me away and hide,I’m thinking that I just can’t (abide) DecideMiddle 8)Rows of hope and people drag you down,Live the rumors passed around the town,Kiss the girl she’s not behind the door,You know I think I know your face,But I’ve never seen you before.3)So sing a song with me,Bang a gong with me,It’s quarter to four and there’s someone at the door,I don’t think that I can take much of this no more.4)So what is wrong with you?I like your attitude,The rain feels the same and it’s fuckin’ up my brain,I think we got a feeling’ I’m lost inside,I think I’m gonna take me away and hide,I’m thinkin' things that I just can’t abide. They were part of what appears to be a different notebook to the one talked about on Mr Monobrows site. This particular set includes a large doodle saying "Me + Music Forever" signed by Noel and dated 23rd November 1994, a page discussing 'The Beatles', 'The Jam', 'David Bowie' and 'The Who', and these lyrics to 'Roll With It' with a set of lyrics behind it which (after much squinting) maybe 'All Around The World'. This information has been available since 2006 so I'm sure some must have seen it, but it was completely new me, and so hopefully you too:

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I never thought of it. Intros for Hey Now and Neil Young- Heart of Gold are very similar and i dont think it's coincidence knowing Noel.

He means this is the only album that has a Noel sung song on it but doesn't have a Noel sung single. WTSMG had DLBIA, SOTSOG had Sunday Morning Call, HC had Little By Little, DBTT had Idle and DOYS had Falling Down.

Fade Away seems to be inspired by Help!:
Both have a first verse that starts "When I was young..." and a second verse that starts "And now my life has..." and they have similar chord progressions.

The only discs without Noel singing lead vocals are Definitely Maybe (standard edition), Cigarettes and Alcohol, Lyla, and I'm Outta Time (minus the Japanese single).

Aside from Liam, none of the other group members have appeared on the music videos of songs written by him.

The song Be here now's got the same chords of rock n roll star. Noel was not much concentrated on songwriting during the recording of BHN. How can you pretend to write a song with the same fuckin' chords of one of your best songs. At least you know it will never sound like the first one. Anyway Noel is one of the greatest songwriter in the hearth, along with Alex Turner is the best british songwriter of the last 20 years

I hear some similarities between the beginning of Keep the Dream Alive and She Said She Said.

I guess that's kind of the cool thing about his songwriting is how he can use a similar melody from a song from the past and throw in some different chords, so that way it still sounds somewhat fresh and unique. Some say it may be generic and lazy, but he changes it up a bit whenever he does reuse a similar melody , and that sets him apart from others imo.

Yes Doctor but D'you know I mean has got all those effects and an arrangement that "hide" better the similarity between the songs.

Add the riff from "Same Size Feet" by the Stereophonics and hey presto!! 5th LP lead single at #1

I'll be honest, I would've never noticed that Noel reused many riffs and chords in other songs had I not been a member of this forum.
