Hindu Times... I don't know how you can start off better.
I may have voted Acquiesce were it not on a non-studio album, however. It's hard to say.

I meant to pick Acquiesce, but I voted for DYKWIM.... not a bad choice, though.

all of em are great oasis songs. went for bag it up cos i haven't been able to get it out of my head lately and its got that stomp to it. although on most days i would say rock 'n' roll star or perhaps d'you know what i mean? cos they're two of my favourite oasis tunes of all time

I picked Turn Up The Sun because I remember when I heard 1st heard it, It was nothing like I had heard before, differnt style. It was the start of a return to form for Oasis.
Rock N' Roll Star is the best EVER though, If that was the question!

RNRS- Probably one of the best opening songs ever Hello- I find this one to be very under rated. With it stomping beat and wahhed guitar and with the "its good to be back" its a fucking tune. DYKWIM- This track just sums up oasis. the epic intro (thats stone rose-ish) is amazing and its has a nice groove. FITB-completely different than the rest. Alan's drums are fucking awesome (he is playing a mitch mitchell beat). Got one of the best bass lines around, ripping guitars, and a nice keyboard line. THT- Its got a great groove, a great chorus TUTS- Completely different than the others. Its got a great into and the chorus is top. BIU- Another completely unusual oasis tune. Marching drums, its the first oasis opener that just hits you since FITB, and its got an EPIC outro.
I don't really know what i'll go for.

The question is not which is the best song, but which one works better as an opening track, so my vote goes for Hello.

^nice one
I went for RNRS. But I think all work very well as openers.
If only Noel judgment of picking the rest of the albums tracks were as good as his judgment of picking the openers..

Rock N' Roll Star, a statement of intent.

It has to be Rock N' Roll Star Star. I love all the songs there, but as for one to show everyone who's boss whether they like it or not, it has to be RNRS.
It sets the scene perfectly for the 'underdog showing everyone up' act that Definitely Maybe is.

I'm going to answer the question: which is the best album opener?
RnRS - showed the world what Oasis were capable of. Fantastic opener, it was a statement of intent that Oasis were rock n roll stars. Best song ever.
Hello - bit under-rated, but not good enough.
DYKNWIM - hell of a tune.
Acquiesce - Not on a studio album, so doesn't count.
FINTB - cracking, stomping tune. However, it doesn't compare to RNRS
HT - Sounds a bit like RNRS, but Liam's vocals ruin this. It sounds like he's trying to be like the singer from Stereophonics.
TUTS - Okay.
BAI - Worst of them all.
