Exciting times, eh?
Coventry 0 - 2 Chelsea is at FT now. Terry & Alex got the goals.
Everton at home to Boro tomorrow which I am infinitely excited about as it means I have been to every round so far apart from the excursion to Macclesfield!
Anyone else awaiting the remaining cup ties with eagerness?

They should really move our semi-final. Bit of a joke to force 80,000 Northerners to trapse down to London on the same day.

I hereby rescind my previous post. I hadn't accounted for the fallibility of Sir Alex Ferguson's fucking appalling selection policy.

Hmmm. A Liverpool fan celebrates our defeat in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the hands of Everton, a team who are both their closest rivals and the team that knocked them out of the very same competition, and in the week that Chelsea ended their chances of winning the Champions League. Says it all really.

Me too I'm a dirty red, the only person who fucked up was fergie. He either genuinely wanted to rest some key players or he was too arrogant with his squad selection.

He either genuinely wanted to rest some key players or he was too arrogant with his squad selection. A little from column a, a little from column b. I'm alright with the rotation policy; it's just that it tends to prove much more effective when you don't rest your entire first-choice midfield and your best two centre-forwards. Make no mistake, Fergie cost us a place in the final yesterday. All these excuses about the pitch and the referee are nothing but a fucking smokescreen.

I don't think he treated the game or Everton with much respect. We do have the Champions Leauge and The premiership, but I think with the likes of Schoals playing from the start it could have made the world of difference to us. But fuck it, its done now ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!

actually, the team was alright, i only think that playing welbeck on the left was a mess. should've put him in front rather than macheda and put nani on the left. then bring macheda on with 10 mins to go

You are very likely right, but the Wembley pitch really is shit. It's not a perfect playing surface, by any means, but from the way Fergie and Wenger - the two losing managers - have been bleating on about it, you'd think they'd had to send their teams out to play in the fucking trenches.

True, losing will obviously exacerbate that (even though they say "it's not an excuse for us losing"). Capello has also been griping about the pitch, apparently, and measuring the grass with his own ruler (!!). The FA have now said they're going to scrap the putch in the summer and try a new soil/grass mix, etc etc. They won't stop holding every possible event at the stadium though, they're desperate for the money. It *should* be a perfect playing surface. It's Wembley Stadium! Wenger is right in as far as it doesn't matter how pretty the arch is or how nice the seats are, if the pitch is crap then all else becomes secondary.

Massively dragging up an old post but I've not been here for four months... Was at the Semi AND Final. The stuff dreams are made of until Drogba & Fat Frank scored. Still though, HISTORY AT WEMBLEY!
