Most of you might already know this, so I'm not expecting jaws to drop. But just to enlighten the people who haven't been informed.. When the chorus is sung for the last time after the breakdown "It's all in my mind... Love is a time machine - Up on the silver screen...". You can hear Noel singing the opposite lines "...Love is a litany - A magical mystery..." And also, again - you might already know this - but in the outro, you can slightly hear the vocals from I guess both Liam and Noel hollering out "Ah ah ah ah ah ahhhhhhhhhh!" (if it wasn't for Guitar Hero World Tour) I would've never noticed any of that. And with this, I kind of have to gripe about it...
To me, the song would of just been a lot better if the vocals were cranked up a bit. The hazy vocals at the end are an extremely nice touch, and it's just a shame it comes off unrecognized, it really does benefit the song. And Noel has excellent backing vocals that are delivered a little differently than Liam's which give it an unique vibe, but again, are unrecognizable due to not poor mixing but a different direction of mixing. I understand the riff was very important since the song relies heavily on it pretty much all the way through, but I believe familiarity of vocals make up the song just as equally. So I don't know, that was just something I wanted to shed some light on. Still love the song though!

Cool thanks for pointing that out, I actually never noticed that. It's a pretty cool touch and you're right the vocals definitely could have been turned up on the bit.
On the DOYS production subject I think the piano on SO could have been turned up as well and could have really come through as the driving force behind that song.

How come you noticed it in Guitar Hero? Have they mixed it a bit differently?

Dave Sardy's idea of producing an album is turning all the knobs up to full and then backing off.
Seriously, listen to the fucking David Bowie remasters, the dynamic range is beautiful, DS just puts out records at 100dB so you can't hear fuck all. Even when I listen to Wonderwall on the original WTSMG disc, the vocals were distinctly louder than the instruments.

When they play it live, you can actually hear Noel's vocals and even the synthesiser much more prominently. Wish I they had turned those two aspects up in the track, would've improved it greatly. The song is still great though, probably the best on DOYS and easily their best lead-single since D'you Know What I Mean?

How come you noticed it in Guitar Hero? Have they mixed it a bit differently? I went into practice mode, while using the guitar, and turned down everything except the vocals, I kept the vocals all the way up. So while it's playing, I just laid off the guitar to where there was no guitar in the song. The vocals are as clear as they can be and you can pretty much make out every single word sung. Another example, I heard the "Cha... cha... chaaa" from Noel's backing vocals in Bag It Up that I never heard before, and the last couple of lines in Waiting For The Rapture that I've always wondered what they were came out to be "Well you can take my soul off the ground... Hey!... Like a million, oh! Don't hand me down." I'm not sure what that means, but those are the lyrics according to GH.
