We now know Oasis are going to be playing gigs in China in the coming months. Since this is the case, and considering the country is MASSIVE, is their any chance of increasing the Oasis fanbase significantly and thus shifting much more copies of DOYS and previous albums, thus making the band even bigger?

Oasis is definitely one of the most known and loved rock bands in China, but generally, RNR is still a cult thing here. The old people like traditional singers more, and the young ones are crazy with R&B nowadays. Also I doute the copies of chinese version will count in the world chart, therefore I always buy the UK version.

No on buys anything in China through legit avenues. I live in Hong Kong-- there will be many Oasis albums sold but none will be authentic.

There are too many illegal copies in China, you can hardly buy the authentic one even in some big cities such as Beijing or Shanghai! But more dates in Asia will definitely bring more and more fans (like me) to join the gigs, even though we have to fly to HK or somewhere to join. Most of the artists doesnt go anywhere excepted Japan

Actually you can easily buy the chinese edition from amazon.cn www.amazon.cn/mn/detailApp?qid=1234621339&ref=SR&sr=13-3&uid=168-3448201-4131467&prodid=bkmu901532Few people in China buy illegal copies these days. They just download the albums.

Can I say, that the fact they are going to China is a disgrace.
They are going to a country which is bloated with anti-democratic government, human rights abuses, Orwellian censorship laws, and Oasis are endorsing this? Noel is going to play nice with the authorities when they tell him he can't play C&A? That's disgusting. If Noel bows to censorship I lose all respect for him. The Stones did it, Mick Jagger is a shrewd businessman we all know that... but it's still wrong. It's still antithetical to the spirit of rock'n'roll.

If you were in China and wanted to see Oasis, I think you'd have a different attitude all together.
