It's been played almost every day since it leaked in late September And the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it an amazing album. Bag It Up is a fantastic opener, great lyrics about drugs and I love the key changes. When I saw the rumored lyrics of "heebiee jebiees" I was skpetical. But it fucking works! The Turning is to me Oasis' best song since the mid 1990s. It could fit on any of the first 3 albums, especially if the guitar solo was longer and more bloated it would have been perfect for BHN. Amazing song. Waiting for The Rapture is still a mix between FON and MF, and while it's not a contender for my favorite track of the album, it's fucking up there. I love do love it. The Shock of The Lightning is the best single since Go Let It Out, or even DYKWIM. Of course it's Oasis by numbers, by that doesn't render it bad, by any means. It's a hyper lyla, and very similar to Some Might Say, for me. But it's awesomely rocking, and fuckingly catchy. I'm Outta Time is a great ballad. Liam's talents are def highlighted here. I was never amongst the people who claimed that it was the best on the album (after all, I fucking love TT), because it's a bit under developed and needs another verse. But it's still amazing, nowhere near Wonderwall orDLBIA though. High Horse again should be a really bad track, but someone the infectious Noel vocals and stomping sound makes it work for an average and ok track Falling Down is lyrically genius, and amazingly organzied. I still think it should go up a key on the final chorus though. But up there with Noel's finest work To Be Where There's Life; the live and bonus versions are better, the studio version would have done better with a fuller sound, but Gem's finest here. Ain't Got Nothing is nowhere near as bad as the demo, and is a better man's Meaning of Soul The Nature of Reality is the only song that hasn't properly grown on me, but the guitar part near the end is indeed nice. Solider On tends to go on to long, and with no more than decent lyrics it initally diesppoainted, but the bass line is fucking mega! Look at the break down: Amazing Songs: Bag It Up, TT, WFT, TT, TSOTL, IOT, FD, TBWTL (8) Average Songs: AGN, SO (2) Poor Songs: TNOR (1) I'm sorry, but this is a quality album. Does it break in the top 3 stranglehold of DM-WTSMG-BHN is indeed debatable, but it sure as hell is a contender, and thus one of Oasis' top 4 albums ever. It's so good. And imagine if HHL and TNOR was replaced with RM and STC(proper, studio versions, not just the demo), FUCK ME! Oasis are well and truly back. Not that you needed me to confirm that, though.

Still loving the album, still not keen on high horse though. Do love the slow acoustic version on the extra cd by Noel.
To be where theres life i love (and it puts me in the mood to have a curry !). Shock of the lightening is still a classic.
Best album theyve done for a fair bit, very good.

no
Bag it up is boring and for anyone who is an unbiased music listener who doesnt fanatasise about Noel's Cock in their mouth, its shit too..
The Turning matches the standards of Gas Panic at the Ver Best.
Waiting For The Rapture is pretty boring on the album...However, live it comes into a completey new nature...
The Shock of Lightening is as good as Hey Now and is actually very similar in How its written
Because i can promise you...if they released Hey Now! as their first single you would all think its great too...
Im Outta Time, Well, it sounds wierd...different, most people ive talked to say its gay That Liams trying to sound sensetive.. its also a bit droannnyyyyyy and very very Liamesque...
and for those who claimed they cried when they heard IOT. especially the male members.....grow a fucking penis.....
sadly the rest of this album sux...wether it included boy with the shoes or not....it sucks Perioed
I have better things to do...see you all next week when ill talk more about something that members here really need to get aquanted with....REALITY
fair well chums

I enjoy the first seven tracks. Alot. Especially Bag It Up and Waiting For The Rapture are brilliant. I love TBWTL live but on the album it's shit along with the three other shitty tracks stuck on the end of this masterpeice. As far as Boy With The Blues goes it's a great bonus track and probably better than a third of the tracks on DOYS. And I agree with Jonjonisuckhardbacon: all ye fags who cried when you heard IOT (unless you cried cos you thought it was horrible) grow a pair!

I'm still withholding my judgement. I know I've put it back on more than one occasion but I really can't decide.

REALITYfair well chums What the f*ck are you doing on an oasis forum? Personally I love bag it up, and think its up their with the very best of oasis. And i love Hey Now. In fact, I think that DOYS is their best album behind DM and MG. Keep your very stupid opinions to yourself.

To be fair, I was in tears....tears of fucking joy that is....when I heard RM for the first time. The hype has died done for me for that tune, although the potential for the final version is still immense.

The first five tracks and Falling Down are all quality songs. TBWTL is a good song too and GOYHHL isn't bad but gets boring pretty quick. Problem is the rest of the album isn't up to scratch, I would quite happily never listen to AGN, TNOR and SO again. A couple more Noel songs and it would be up there as one of the best Oasis albums. I would put it on a par with SOTSOG in that there are some good songs but the filler really drags it down.

when i first heard RM I can say that, that last bit "you can't give me a reason" part I was just like "holy fuck, this song is gonna be a classic". Its still an amazing tune one of the best Noel has written ever. The lyrics need a bit of changing but RM could really be on the level with CS in my opinion.

Let me see... Amazing songs: TT, FD Excellent songs: everything else except - Average songs: AGN, TNOR (and even TNOR has a good quasi-solo.)
Yes, definitely a great album.

I think the album itself is above average at best. Like a 3 or 3.5 out of 5 stars. There are some moments on the record where I'm like, damn Oasis wrote some of the best tunes of their career (particularly TSOTL, TT, TBWTL, IOT, BIU). The rest of the songs I find are just very good tunes. Not necessarily great tunes, but just solid album tracks.

I have to say I agree to an extent about Falling Down, I appreciate that it's a good song but I don't rate it as highly as most people do on here. The most disappointing thing for me is that it's a missed opportunity. The first five songs are up there with their best material, from then on the album goes downhill pretty fast. It's baffling that RM and STC weren't on this album, even the demos of those songs would have been an improvement on the likes of TNOR and AGN.

Shock Of The Lightning, Waiting For The Rapture and Bag It Up are arguably the best Oasis have ever done.
Solider On and Im Outta Time are both good.
The rest is plain awful and lazy.
For a band with a profile like theirs, who boldly claim to be 'the best band in the world', then this album is poor.
Starts well and thats it.

It is a great allbum, their best in over a decade. 9 good tracks out 11 is a good album in my book, with 7 being outstanding. Couldnt have asked for more considering what we have had since BHN.

Please don't get me wrong people...I love Oasis, I still love them and really enjoyed their Amsterdam gigs last week. When I was standing just front of them, singing most of the songs along, I really realized how great they are. It doesn't matter for me anyway if Liam's voice was ok or not. Being there, seeing them for 2 nights was fantastic.
But if "Dig Out Your Soul" is such a great album? No, not to me. It's the worst album they ever made.

Thanks for the honest opinion, Mimmi. I respect that. I would have jumped on that praising you before, but now I am reserved. It's not very good but it's not terrible. Is it the worst? I don't know..... damn what a hard topic
