Does anyone know what the outcome of this case was? I'm very interested to know.
I've been through Toronto news sites and can't seem to find any updates.
Maybe one of our Canadian friends have some info?
Cheers

14 years is far too long a sentence for something that's not especially serious or premeditated. If you fire-and-Brimstone Old Testament dudes insist in doling out 14 years jailtime for this guy,----who is barely merely a common garden-variety asshole, and not a legitimate threat to society-------- then murderers and child-molesters are surely worthy of recieving 99 years [and that MEANS 99 calender years, with no looney, senseless time reductions] .
At this rate, the jails would soon fill up, so harsh, back-to-basics Victorian-style punishments of bread and water only, harsh unpaid labor, brutalized conditions, etc, must be implemented and sustained to act as a REAL detterent against jail in the first place.
Overcrowding in jail problem sorted, and cost-effective, to boot [prisoners work as unpaid slaves to fund the jail system: no burden on taxpayer].
End result: fear of crime and subsequent reduction, and most misery endured only by certified maniacs and wierdos, etc, in the slammer for 99 years. Everyone else doesn't give a shit about them, and society continues, without great fear of crime, unabated.
SORTED
BiProduct Problem: Possible Formation of Police State as a result of effective reduction in crime.
