Oasis have been forced to postpone tonight's sold out show at the Philipshalle in Dusseldorf on medical advice. Liam Gallagher who has had a sore throat for the past few shows was examined by a doctor this morning. The doctor has diagnosed an oedema on Liam's vocal chords and has advised total rest for 48 hours.
The concert has been rescheduled for the 4th of February. All tickets will remain valid for the new date but ticket holders may apply for refunds from the point of ticket purchase.
Oasis are disappointed that they cannot continue with tonight's show as planned and would like to apologise to their fans for the inconvenience.
All other dates on the Oasis European tour will go ahead as planned.

this is just the start of trouble liam and oasis will start to have.
Think about it liam had over 3 weeks or so off over christmas but now only a few shows in the new year his voice is fucked.
This is spelling the the end of Oasis and if liam doesn't get his throat operated on it's ovver
Forget what Noel says about liam going bald Liam doesn't have a voice Chief...................

i don't think we should over-react to one incident, but you may well raise a valid point. Liam is constantly on the edge with his voice and it probably is just a matter of time before it completely fails him. we'll have to see how the rest of the tour goes..48 hours isn't long to rest, who's to say he'll be ok in that short time?

2 days doesn't sound that serious. Actually, I'm really surprised that the doctor didn't find anything more serious on his vocal chords I'm going to Amsterdam, hopefully he won't have any trouble singing. I'd rather have the gig rescheduled, than a horrible performance.

From listening to some of that gig in Belgium Liam sounded awful even after a minor lay off from touring, let Noel take over, at least the set list would change ( a bit) The best Liam's vocals have been since any Live performance was at the Black Island Studios.

Some of the over reactions here are ridiculous. We all get sick. This has nothing to do with his voice or singing, but rather the simple fact that he got sick with a sore throat during the winter months; not exactly uncommon.

Noel has had the bug and mentioned it in his blog and now liam's has got it so i dont think liam is finished just yet you haters lol.
Its better they cancel now than starting the show and liam walking off three tunes in.

I think this is a slight overreaction. I'm sure he'll be fine, and the rest of the gigs will sound like the ones you've been hearing. Unfortunately, his voice probably won't get any better.
What is this operation people are talking about?

Aparently Liam has a Nodels thingy in his throat that's been giving him the vocal problems we hear so much about on these forums. You can get it fixed. Bono apparently had the same problem during the 90s and during the Pop album tour, got it fixed.
But I'm no expert, thats all I've heard.

Bono having nodes removed is a bit of a myth actually - he had huge problems during the Pop album/tour because he has some serious allergies that he didn't know about, and since discovering them (around the time of recording ATYCLB), he's been able to avoid what sets him off (dry climates in particular, which is why rehearsing Pop in Vegas pretty much screwed up the whole tour), and so his voice got better. Liam could try some surgery, but it's a huge risk - Julie Andrews had it done 15 years ago and hasn't been able to sing a note since.
