I don't know if you guys have heard about this yet or not, but you will eventually. It's an abomination called Microsoft Songsmith and it's doing its best to destroy music. Here is the jaw-dropping "promotional" ad: videogum.com/archives/commercials/nothing-can-prepare-you-for-th_044861.htmlAnd here is Songsmith having its way with "Wonderwall": That old techno remix of "Wonderwall" sounds absolutely regal in comparison

wow - that Wonderwall bit is pretty fucking interesting. I mean, if someone just MADE that it wouldn't be cool, but because it was done with Songsmith it's actually quite cool.

You think it sounds cool? It sounds like the music from that Bop-It children's toy from the 90s. Generic blips and the simplistic chords possible. It sounds REALLY strange with Liam's vocal over it and how it never changes the chords.

If this catches on (or a like minded product) that's it for music. Seriously. Fuck my post in the RNR Section about the music in the next decade, we'll have emo shit head teens using these sort of programs to be famous.
I love technology, but in some ways it is/will destroy some our social enjoyments. What a joke.

You can start flipping out once robots start coming back from the future to destroy all our guitars. lol. Of course nothing has happened yet. And nothing may ever happen with it, hopefully (and probably); it's most likely a fad for pre-teens to fuck around with. BUT, if it does catch on, then we have more to worry about than some shit Oasis techno mix. Seriously, if this catches on, it will be the end of music as we know it...... But that commercial looks so gimicky that, if I didn't know better, I would assume it was some fake product. So I don't hold too much stock in this item just yet, but ti's scary knowing the possible implications.

There is a slide bar where you can make songs more or less "jazzy."
A SLIDE BAR FOR GOD'S SAKE

A SLIDE BAR FOR GOD'S SAKE Obviously your humor slide bar isn't working As if anyone will buy it after seeing that commercial and nobody will use it to create songs, it will be dead technology soon and no-one will remember it. Stop getting worked up.

I mean, nothing made on this thing is going to be infecting the airwaves anytime soon. And it probably will be dead (or more likely replaced by a superior technology) in a matter of years or even months. But I believe in giving praise AND shame where it's due.
But the slide bar thing is pretty funny. Keep in mind I find the commercial more hilarious than horrifying

Your right! The remix was absolutely dreadful. That same melody, over and over again. Focus over a long time on that melody, and you'll surely give oneselves a permanent brain damage.
By the way, manonthemoon748. The new Falling Down single will include Falling Down (Microsoft Songsmith remix) ;D

That commercial is the number one reason I am DAMN PROUD to be a Mac user. All those lame Apple commercials over the years make me feel good that I will never touch any over hyped crap from Apple.

Ali G's Remixes were boss, man. Obviously there is no humour or irony involved in this, and it's one of the worst remixes of all time.
