I saw an article in the NYT about the new Jaguar XF-R and it mentioned an Oasis song was used in the video (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/14/automobiles/autoshow/jaguar-xf-r.html):
January 14, 2009 Detroit Auto Show | Jaguar XF-R Jaguar’s Scalded Cat By LAWRENCE ULRICH INTRODUCED ON MONDAY Jaguar XF-R
IS IT REAL? The high-performance edition of the new XF sedan reaches dealerships in April.
WHAT THEY SAID As an Oasis song boomed through Jaguar’s oversized display area, the company showed a slick, Michael Bay-style video of racer Paul Gentilozzi setting a new Jaguar speed record in a modified XF-R at the Bonneville Salt Flats: 225.675 mph, besting the XJ 220 supercar of the ‘90s.
WHAT THEY DIDN’T SAY Ian Callum, Jaguar’s chief designer, said it’s taken 10 years to modernize the Jaguar lineup. “The journey is about getting Jaguar back to making fast, beautiful, modern cars, as they were in the ‘50s and ‘60s.” Mr. Callum said he’s been personally reassured by executives of Tata — the Indian company that bought Jaguar from Ford — that Jaguar will receive the investment it needs to keep its plans on course.
WHAT MAKES IT TICK? An all-new 5-liter, supercharged V-8 with 510 horsepower, good for a 4.7-second sprint to 60 miles an hour. (The new 2010 XK-R sports car gets the same powerplant). A new, stiffer computer-controlled suspension and rear differential, enormous brakes and deep-bolstered sport seats are part of the package.
HOW MUCH, HOW SOON? The supercharged, 420-horsepower XF costs roughly $60,000 well-equipped, so figure at least another $10,000 for this amped-up model when it’s sold this spring.
HOW’S IT LOOK? Subtly beefed-up compared to the standard XF, including a redone front bumper and four exhaust outlets. The intake louvers in the bonnet — that’s “hood” to us Yanks — and the big-and-tall 20-inch wheels are nice touches.
Then I did some searching and found a video of it. It's very cool! I wonder if they'd use it as a commercial?
And just the video:
And here's another video of the car beating some speed record to Shock of the Lightning:

when you put that song with a car commercial it really works!
A good promo video for that song would have done it wonders unlike that artsy fartsy stuff that they used for the video.

Pretty damn cool. That needs to be aired on TV. The part where the shock was sung, the visuals matched well.

Awesome ads, particularly the second posted videos. Now if it catches on like Cadillac and Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" that would be some shiz.
