Noel on stopcryingyourheartout.com interview "Q) Do the band plan on visiting South America, New Zealand, Australia and Russia on the current tour?
A) Not sure about New Zealand, but we’re definitely playing in Australia and Russia."

Anyone know when the above interview took place? Hope it is recent. I'm quite surprised no announcements have been made yet....

Gee, I'm getting a bit fookin excited now. It's overdue lads- we need you to get down here and show all the pretenders how it's done!!
Hope they play The Forum in Melbourne again this time and not Festival Hall- it was about 45 degrees in there that 2005 summer. I came out of the show about five kilograms lighter.

Was @ both of the gigs and remember thinking that the forum gig was better.. but the 2005 was a bigger venue.. id almost say double the size of the forum?? 2k / 4k?? sound about right?? hard to know.. i live in adelaide and dont see many bands outside of here.. unless of course its oasis!

why are they that small in australia....gigs to just 4,000 people? wtf---?
even in us they sell 7-10,000 regularly, so in germany, france, etc....hey the whole world.
whats wrong with the aussies? once they were huge down there. and now nobody wants to play/hear/see them? come on, in the whole world they had a decrease of popularity, but still appeal the masses to their concerts, but in aussieland? anybody some thoughts about it?

To be fair, suckermc, they do usually play a couple of dates in Sydney and Melbourne when they play in Australia. Therefore, 2 nights at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney would be equivalent to approx 10,000. In all honesty, Australians do not seem to have gotten behind the band as much as many countries have but considering the population, playing to 10,000 in Sydney is quite respectable. I think the issue is finding the right venue... Although they can easily sell out places like the Hordern Pavilion, or Melbourne's Forum & Festival Hall, they are probably not quite big enough here to sell out Acer Arena or the SCG for example. Coldplay are playing 4 nights at Acer next week (which I believe has a concert capacity of around 21,000) but Oasis are just not as big here. With that said, it suits me down to the ground! I have seen Oasis play in Auckland, New York, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and Sydney, and only in the Sydney and Auckland concerts was I able to easily get to the front row. Absolutely brilliant gigs!

THE FORUM gigs were amzing. 2000 people only with 3 bars (2 by the side of stage and one at the back). Felt like being in a club. Beautiful venue too.
FESTIVAL HALL was ridiculous. Don't know how the band didn't pass out in all the heat. I know the Beatles played there but it's time that place was pulled down.

Amen. I like the intimacy of the smaller crowds... Festival Hall is a Joke. I dont think its going to be that bad a crowd that they'll play at the Palace, a forum gig would be nice.

I was in that bloody side section of Festival Hall in 05 with a bunch of twelve-year-olds: the 'dry' section! I wasn't able to have a beer. Nor would the staff let me leave the dry section, have a beer and then return. Standing room in the middle is the only reasonable place to be at Festival Hall. And even that's hot, small and packed in.
The Forum, however, is cool. There's plenty of space, a fucking mega ornate faux-Roman ceiling and you can cruise around easily to the different bars.
