I think my doc might be lost, I had saved it and now go back to it and it gives me this error message - by the way the name of the document is "report 12-17-08.p with replaced employees"

I'm running office 2007 and windows XP, if anyone has ANY ideas please help! This is a big report due on Monday, and while I do have several backup versions this version includes all the work I did on it today (about 12 hours worth!) here is a yousendit link with the file if you are willing to try! Please help!

I think the xml files of the document are damaged

try renaming the file as zip and opening the "document.xml" file. It gives me a crc error

if you can open it, make sure all the opening tags have closing tags, as in, for example

<name>something</name>

<tag1><tag2>dfsdfdddsf</tag2></tag1>

(by the way, you have to remove the " in the link)

the link doesnt work. retry to upload it.

you can open xml files with any internet browsing software like moronzilla with wordpad and even with texteditor. copy and paste the content to a fresh and uncorrupted file.
office should have a built in xml editor at least my 2003 edition has. look for it somewhere in your ms office folder.

'kaaay. so it's a .docx file with xml content not a simple .xml file?

i opened it in word 2003 and got asked to choose a coding. i chose windows standard, shoulda be western european by default or smth like that...hope no info has been lost now..

ive saved and uploaded your file as doc and as xml under word 2003
