Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has written off his Ferrari in a crash near Manchester Airport. The 23-year-old winger was driving the sports car through a tunnel beneath the runways when he smashed into a barrier. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said his team-mate Edwin van der Sar was following in his Bentley, but the Dutch keeper was not involved in the crash. Ronaldo was not injured in the accident, which happened on the A538 Altrincham Road at about 1020 GMT. full article news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/manchester/7817764.stm

He probably did a couple of step-overs instead of hitting the brake pedal. I wonder if the paramedics who arrived on the scene found him grimacing in pain and holding his ankle, only to see him get up 5 seconds later smiling and laughing.

Well I, for one, have no doubt that the accident was caused not by Ronaldo, but by a much less talented driver; perhaps a driver who, harbouring a deep resentment towards Ronaldo as a result of his own inferior ability at the wheel, saw fit to cut Ronaldo up as he passed in the fast lane, forcing him to take evasive action and crash directly into the barrier.
