Some might think this idea is a bit proposterous, but its something I've been thinking about for a while, and also think would be interesting as fuck to see if it was made. So anyway, here's my basic plot line and cast. The main story of the film begins just after they get signed in late 1993, and ends on the night before the release of Be Here Now (which is also the name of the film). Throughout the film, the time frame repeatedly flashes back to the time of Noel and Liam's youth, focusing primarily on the interwining stories of Noel's time as a roadie for the Inspiral Carpets, and Liam trying to get his band The Rain off the ground. These flashbacks conclude towards the end of the film when Noel joins the band. The film basically follows Oasis' rise to fame in the years 1994-96, documenting their excessive partying, drug use, the Gallagher brothers arguments and performing some of the bands biggest shows, such as Maine Road and Knebworth. Towars the end of the film the band is shown during the troubled recording of Be Here Now. In the final scene of the film, we see Noel alone in a hotel room somewhere sitting on his bed the night before the release of Be Here Now. The time scale flashes back a final time when Noel recalls a incident when his brother asks Noel to help him write songs early on in the bands career. Noel replies with the words, "Just go let it out, bruv. Dont keep it in, just go let it out". The time shifts back to the present. Noel looks down at the notepad and pen by his side. he writes the words Go Let It Out at the top and we see him write the words Paint no illusion before the screen turns to black and the credits roll. CastNoel Gallagher - Daniel Craig or Gerard Butler Liam Gallagher - Sam Riley (simply because of his performance as Ian Curtis in Control) Bonehead - Jason Statham? Haha. Guigsy - Some unknown actor Alan White - Again, someone unknown. Isnt a big part Robbie Williams - Ewan McGregor Damon Albarn - dont know Tony McCarroll - not a big part Paul Weller - Rhys Ifans Paul Gallagher - Robert Carlyle Tommy Gallagher - Craig Fairbrass Tell me what you think. U.

Thats great. Seriously, the final scene would be mega and I like the whole "flashbacks" idea, like in Lost or something

i dont like the idea of an oasis film @ all.. however surely u have to show the whole story... u cant stop @ the peak of their popularity.. u have to show the backlash from be here now and them re working their way back...

cast:
Liam - main geezer from green street hooligans (not elijah wood) or christian bale( bale could absolutely nail Liam if he grows his hair and the make up people do it exacty like Liams) Noel - James McAvoy

I would love to see this happen - esp. after seeing Control and what an amazing film that was. You'd have to have a killer director though.
But I agree - Ewan McGregor would make an hilarious Robbie Williams - or even Damon Albarn maybe. Of course you could have Mani in there just playing himself! Ha!

Great topic. I would DEFINITELY LOVE to see an Oasis bio pic. A bit too soon though. Can see it happening...in about 10-15yrs time. In the mean time, we need more oasis fans to work in the Industry. That way we can plug the band at every chance we get.

Well controll was made (and was FUCKING BRILLIANT) and 24 hour party people. It doesn't have to be a hollywood blockbuster or anything and i would prefer if they could use footage and/or audio from any gigs featured. Close ups could be the actors and the wideshots the real thing maybe. I don't see the writing of Go Let It Out as the ending of the film though. IMO either you end at Knebworth or do the whole thing. Noel and Liam would have to be played by British actors of course

Guigsy - Some unknown actor Rowlin Atkinson, mate Tony McCarroll - not a big part Hahaha..... totally disagree. I'd play tony - my hairy is curly and I play the drums like he does!!! Hahaha... barely! Just kidding - Tony fuckin rocks!

Bonehead - Jason Statham? Haha. ____________________________________________________________________
lol
but yeah, like some of the others said, you couldn't end it like that... maybe end it with the release of DOYS and the gig @ MSG or one of the upcoming stadium gigs.

Honestly, I don't see the point. We already have this all documented on film through interviews and such.
If anything, I'd rather it be a plot linking all the characters in Oasis songs as discussed once before on this forum.....Mr. Sifter, Dot, Sally, The Passerby, Elsa, Lyla, etc
Now that would be cool and original

That'd be a concept album. It would be the movie Across The Universe. oh please no. Across the Universe was the biggest piece of shit ever created. I'd like a documentary like that though. Hopefully it would be a good indie release. Bale could pull off a great Liam. On that subject, if they did a thing like that for The Verve, Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks fucking identical to Ashcroft.

Across the Univ. was a fuckin complete DUD! I forced myself to watch the movie (DVRd ofcourse wasnt fuckin paying to go see it) about 30mn in I shut it off and deleted it. The thought of an Oasis bio pic would be cool. McAvoy would be a great Noel, Barb Windsor would be a great Mrs. Peggy Gallagher. I think Rkids role would have to be played by an unknown.

Across the Universe wasn't that bad. Some of it was REALLY bad, but some of it was really really really well done
"She's So Heavy" and "Oh Darling!" were fucking AMAZING......
That being said a lot of it was really flimsy, and although I really enjoyed Bono doing IATW his role was fucking stupid

"If anything, I'd rather it be a plot linking all the characters in Oasis songs as discussed once before on this forum.....Mr. Sifter, Dot, Sally, The Passerby, Elsa, Lyla, etc" erm, Elsa, its a..dog, doesnt sound like a blockbuster to me.. And the idea itself sounds really kitcsh...sounds more like a movie made on some french jazz singer..not a rocknroll band.. (btw, if anyone should play bonehead its obviously Craig Cash )

Noel's already said that he wouldnt be adverse to an Oasis movie several times recently, but I doubt anything would happen for at least another 10 years - Oasis' legacy isn't complete yet, theres still a lot more to the story
