live : To be where there's life

this is such a complete cd through and through... The singles all rock, but Falling Down is my favorite for it's dreamy existential component.
I remember hearing Lyla when it came out, and going to myself... oh no this is generic. Then I heard The Shock and did the same thing. After listening to the songs on CD for the last while they have both grown on me so much. It's really weird how Oasis have that power. I just find myself listening to the riffs and beat so much more carefully than I would other songs, and I just can't get enough of how Noel plays the opening riff in Lyla, and the demonic keyboards on Shock. I gotta say Dig Out Ur Soul was the best CD they have made since Morning Glory.

Can't really decide because nothing from the album really jumps out for me. Probably have to go with Falling down. I like the remix version of TBWTL as well so not sure if that counts in this.
I gotta say though that when I first heard the album IOT was my fave track but I've lost interest in that one now.

Still love love love The Turning. But then there's Falling Down, Bag It Up, Shock of the Lightning, I'm Outta Time, Waiting for the Rapture, and To Be Where There's Life all in 2nd place.....what a great album! Ditto

It's gotta be the 'Shock' with 'The Turning' at a close second.. those songs will continue to rock my face off!

mmhmmm
Love: The Turning, Bag it Up, WFTR
but still: The Shock of the Lightning is text-book Oasis, and I still argue it could fit right on Def Maybe.
just a proper fucking rock n roll song.
drum solo still makes me want to punch someone in the face.
nuff said.

Fucking hell ... hard q as the first half is golden.
TSOTL is fucking amazing and takes top spot - but the other 4 follow and in no real order.... all splendidly fucking proper rock n roll

Waiting for the Rapture probably my favourite, just an amazing song. The album and alternative versions are both just as good.
My second favourite is TSOTL, it's a classic Oasis song. It's probably the closest song to their 1994-97 sound, it sounds like it could have been on DM or MG.

Think it's Turning right now - but there are half a dozen other contenders for best song on the album.
GOYHHL is the one song I appreciate 10x more now than when the album first came out. I'm Outta Time is the one song that is becoming more 'meh' the more I listen to it. TNOR is still crap, but not as bad as I thought it was at first.
Here's what the next Oasis album should be:
1 Liam song 1 or 2 Gem songs Everything else by Noel
Use the rest of Liam's songs and all of Andy's for the B-sides.
