I was there, chief. The band wasn't feeling it at that show. It took them at least twice as long to come back on the stage and Liam commented as such. And nerd? Not at all. I fucking love when people are jumping around at a gig having a good time but there's a difference between that and obnoxious idiots slamming into everyone because they're drunk and ruining it for people that paid a lot of money to enjoy a show, not enjoy someone else's beer in their hair. I'm there at every show I've been to singing my lungs out, as I would expect most fans to do. Orchestra? Hardly. If that was the case I wouldn't go to half the shows I do. I've been to GA shows at the Black Cat and 9:30 Club in DC without drunken idiots ruining a great time and I've been to GA shows at Bowery Ballroom and Maxwell's in the NYC area without drunken idiots ruining a great time. People can jump about and enjoy a show without being assholes. Hell, jump around all you want but when someone keep drunkenly spilling into the aisles and hitting people around them in the head repeatedly, to the point that 4 different people and 2 members of the venue staff tell you to stop, there's a problem. Sorry man, I paid a lot of money and travelled a lot of miles to go to these gigs . I appreciate that people want to have a good time but that doesn't mean you have to do it to the displeasure of the majority of people around you. I've been to a ton of great Oasis shows in the past 8 or so years where the fans were incredible. The two times I was in Philly and the one idiot in Fairfax not withstanding, I stand by that. Hell, the show at the Garden was probably one of the best atmospheres I've experienced at a show, period. Where did Liam comment as such that he hated/was disappointed the crowd? Here is video of them coming on stage for Songbird, the first song of the encore. Personally, I thought the Philly show in 2005 was fantastic. Aside from it being really, really hot, and I was dieing from waiting in line since 1 in the afternoon, it was loads of fun. I'd take it over the 2005 Merriwhether crowd (the lamest in rock history) anyday. rapidshare.com/files/176576636/renamed_08._Songbird_NY.MPG.htmlWe could do this all night...I could post a ton of proof showing they dug the crowd and were into the show that night. Maybe you (and your ilk) were the ones not getting it?

Maybe you (and your ilk) were the ones not getting it? Well you're right. When he said "tool" i thought he said "two". I stand corrected. Here's a nice thread from directly after the show where the majority of people who were at that show from the forum posted on how positively great the Philly crowd was: live4ever.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=DBTT&action=display&thread=35987You'll notice that I was the one suggesting that I wanted the crowd MORE into it while others were complaining about the frat boy atmosphere, the beer bottles getting thrown around, getting hit in the head by people tripping on mushrooms, etc. And you'll also notice that at least two of the people doing the commenting have followed the band around more than a few times. Philly crowds (whether sports or otherwise) are notorious for being crappy on a number of levels. You'll notice again, that I was complaining about the drunken idiots that slam into people and boo someone while they perform on stage rather than say, going to get another beer outside or taking a piss and allowing people to enjoy the show. People have every right to get into the shows, jump around, sing and have a great time but there's a way to do that without detracting from everyone else's experience. If someone was drunk and throwing beer bottles or slamming into people at a bar they'd be kicked right out. Somehow concerts should be different?

Magick is absolute bliss. And they booed 'coz he was asking who was from Philly or Jersey or some stupid crap...
Whoever that was in front of me that requested Roll With It and Wonderwall from Ryan, I give you a thumbs up for being hilariously intoxicated.

Having now seen Oasis...well a lot of times in 3 or 4 different cities...I can assuredly say that the Philly crowds are routinely the worst in the Northeast USA. In '05 the Festival Pier was filled with a lot of frat boy types and the band almost had to be dragged back on for the encore. Liam certainly made some comment to that effect... Read the archives. A lot of us were noticeably disappointed with the crowd back in '05. Lots of obnoxious individuals who seemed like they were there to see a concert that happened to have that band that plays Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger as the headliners. It was an unfortunate site to witness. Last week they treated Ryan Adams like crap as he put on a literally PERFECT performance. As has been noted, a few years ago, if Ryan was the headliner, some of the booing may have been warranted. But now? Not so much. He puts about 150% into every performance he gives now and it shows. He was like a kid in a candy shop getting to open for Oasis. He has a ton of blog entries where he talked about what a great experience it was for him. He's a fan just like all of us who just happens to have had the incredible opportunity to open for his idols. Liam noted how much he was digging him in a few interviews and we know that Noel thinks the world of him and the rest of his band. That alone should warrant a little respect from the crowd. With regards to the Philly show though, there were a lot of "bro" types at the show. I got the feeling I was surrounded by a bunch of people that rent coach buses to go see Dave Matthews Band at Giants Stadium. Most of the night I had someone who very well may have been an Eagles linebacker in front of me wearing a Mike Schmidt jersey who's way of applauding Oasis was to give them the 1 finger salute after each song. I mean, really? I think that pretty much sums up about 25% of the crowd that night. Not surprisingly, you'll notice that Noel didn't let the crowd sing the DLBIA chorus by ourselves. In my experience, Noel allowing the crowd to do that is a reflection of his view of the audience. He didn't let the crowd sing DLBIA in '05 either. At the Fairfax gig he waited until the second chorus when he was evidently sufficiently impressed enough to turn it over to the crowd. So to sum it up, Philly crowds = crap. P.S. - As I recall, didn't BRMC refuse to ever open for Oasis again after their experience with the idiot fans at the Hyde Park gigs back in '02? Can anyone confirm that? I'll start off by saying I like Ryan Adams a lot. But...you can boo him or anybody you want to if you buy a ticket. If you're not fighting people then you can say what you want. It's a rock show. On an aside - You're such a nerd/snob. I'm tired of you and a lot of other Oasis fans of your ilk expecting every Oasis show to be like the fucking orchestra and for Oasis fans to sit with their legs crossed and mouths closed. It's Oasis, it's a party. Get over yourself. Nobody made you buy a ticket. If you don't like assholes at shows then listen to the records in your room. Your pouting isn't going to change how other people act. They are having fun, why don't you join the party? Noel DID let the crowd sing the first chorus in Philly. I think you just want to lie to push nerd agenda on people that like to have fun. rapidshare.com/files/176539566/renamed_10._Don_t_Look_Back_In_Anger_NY.MPG.html(it says NY, but it really is the Festival Pier in '05...if you were there..and I'm doubting that...you would know) it says NY because they're my videos...

If Ryan Adams would release albums every 3 years, they would be far better than Oasis'.

how stupid. but yeah like the previous person said, a lot of people are just drunk idiots saying god knows what... I was there and saw/heard some of the hecklers. I also noticed that the same people who heckled were the ones who only "pepped up" when Wonderwall, DLBIA & CS came on...I wasnt surprised.

1. philly show - i was there also (and all these videos are mine, guess you all got them from mirc or at least thats where i shared them). the show was pretty crap, obviously jet were horrible, there were a lot of oasis fans, and a lot of people that truly looked like they had no idea why they were there. paying $50, $60, $70 for a band that you only know one or two songs is beyond me. the band looked bored as fuck (well they do usually) but they quite meant it. it was so out of place, everyone was tired, and there was a little group of at least 10-15 people who were being asses all night. thats that.
2. ryan adams is spectacular. i was dissapointed by his set though, but thats the circumstances. its the first time in his life that he uses a setlist. trust me.
3. yelling "summer of 69" to ryan is just as stupid as yelling "liam liam" to damon albarn or "country house" to noel. and just idiotic as calling oasis a beatles cover band. no idea why that makes you thiunk you're cool, but if it makes you happy, good for you.
4. i thinlk this is the most i've ever written here. damn...

Every single point you made is spot on. The band looked absolutely miserable at that show in '05. The crowd was a joke. For a GA show, you'd expect a bit more energy. Maybe it was the heat, though...I very nearly fainted walking from the Greyhound station to the venue that day! Thankfully, an ice cream truck was parked right in front of the festival pier...It was like a gift from above.

We were in Section 6 Row F...The first 5 rows in our section were all "guests" of the band and photographers so we were in good company I guess. We tried for the first 4 sections but we couldnt find anything on Craigslist that we could afford. Twas still amazing though.
