Hey fellas
I am a huge fan of both The Beatles and Oasis. But I don't understand why Oasis have NOT worked or played with Paul McCartney since The Beatles are their main influence...
Seems almost ridiculous. Imagine Paul playing with Liam and Noel ... rock n roll heaven ...

Well Noel did - with Paul McCartney and Paul Weller when they formed the mini-band Smokin' Mojo Filters
But no, Oasis hasn't yet in an official capacity.

Shooting yourself in the foot. It would solidify their image as a nostalgia/Beatles tribute band, at the very least in the States.
Maybe if both bands were in their prime at the same time they could've done something together. Would've looked more like great bands working together instead of the kids needing grandpa to help them out. At least Paul Weller was still making good albums when they collaborated with him. McCartney now? It just wouldn't look right.

I thought they fell out with McCartney? Or was it just George Harrison?

I thought they fell out with McCartney? Or was it just George Harrison? It was both actually, but it was mostly between Liam and McCartney I think I read an article in a magazine that hinted McCartney had sent Liam a copy of his new album Flaming Pie shortly after it came out with a 'hear you liked my old stuff, hope you like the new stuff' note. Liam sent word back to Macca that he thought the album was a complete waste of time. Thus, the next time McCartney was asked about Oasis in an interview he chose to slag them off Shortly after in response, Noel & Liam gave a famously drunk/stoned interview on Radio 1 with Steve Lamacq where Liam called McCartney "that other c**t who gives me s**t", called McCartney, Harrison, and Mick Jagger and Keith Richards "jealous & senile" and challenged them to a fight on Primrose Hill. After the hype calmed, a few years later, Noel has said that he happened to run in to Harrison at a party and they both got on quite well (according to Noel George's opening line was 'D'you like Carl Perkins?), getting rid of any bad feelings between them.

hahaha... he did! Good times. I don't think that a collaboration is really all that much of an exciting idea. I like Paul McCartney, but I don't see him mixing in with Oasis these days. It wouldn't really suit either party's interests.

Speaking of Oasis and Paulie, I do remember a story a while back when Paul saw Noel in a department store (some type of store) and told one of the workers to watch out for him. ;D Paul would probably be a great friend, seems like a good fellow.

I seem to recall in Paolo Hewitt's book about the BHN tour, Liam catches Bonehead reading a biography of McCartney in an airport and goes mental at him for reading about "that vagina", takes the book off of him and throws it away, and it hits some woman in the head or something. (I could be mis-rememberingh this - been awhile since I read the book!)

Yeh, I never got round to reading Forever The People, but I remember this same story reported in a music paper, possibly the press took it drectly from Hewitt's book. It was McCartney's official biography 'Many Years From Now'.

Noel could do a solo album in which he collaborates with McCartney on a track.
He could also collaborate with Weller on a track.
MAYBE THE SAME TRACK.

Keep dreaming, but I honestly don't see it being big. Think of all the expectations around it and it probably won't be all that impressive.

As awesome as it would be to have them play together, I don't see it as being a huge deal. Oasis is out of (or from these previous posts sound like they have never been) too impressed with meeting the remaining Beatles.

And another thing I didn't even think about is them collaborating live - also a bad idea!! Hahaha..... I don't know Craziness. I don't think that Oasis should do it!!!
