I know it's anal but it just unfuriates me how they have gone about things on this album and with the single releases. It could all have been so much better...

so you realy want that there are only 10 tracks on DOYS ? soldier on should be on the album and i can't understand why the original WFTR isn't on the album or on one of the singles. Also Bag it Up is a great opener!!!

The Turning is a far better opener than Bag It Up and Soldier On is nowhere near as good an album closer as I Want To Live In A Dream (In My Record Machine). It's B-side material.
And why have 12 or 13 tracks when you can have 10 really strong ones instead?

I said on another thread that the last three tracks make the album die a slow death... I dislike "ain't got nothing" and "the nature of reality" but I think "soldier on" is a good album closer. It doesn't always have to be a huge "epic". I think the trouble is, by the time we reach track 11 the momentum that the first half of the album ha built is well and truly gone due to AGN and TNOR. I wish Andy would write a song in the style that Ride used to do... just to see how it sounded with oasis.
I would leave the album how it is, just sort out the last 3 tracks... Im glad record machine isn't on the album.

Am I the only one who thinks that Get Off Your High Horse Lady is strong enough to be in the album? (well, it already is, but you know)

Am I the only one who thinks that Get Off Your High Horse Lady is strong enough to be in the album? (well, it already is, but you know) Nah I think it deserves to be there for sure. And I agree that it's futile to continuously discuss what the album should have looked like. We all have mp3 players these days and we can just make our own versions of the album by including or omitting songs as we prefer so there shouldn't be any fuss.

ANYWAY, the album is fine the way it is, and no one can change in. Why bother debating it?

I think its safe to assume 'Come on, it's alright' will be a fairly good song, as it was written side by side with Falling Down and SOTL. It was intended to be a single (first single I guess), and hey, Noel is saving it for the next album.

That's Oasis' only real flaw - the tracklisting.
I don't understand why Noel keeps fucking it up. Acquisce, The Masterplan, LAMB, Idler's Dream, RM....the list is pretty much endless.
Yup, it is true that this 4/5 or 4.5/5 star album is just 2 track changes away from being a 5/5, as good as DM.
But, as it stands, i still highly rate this album, and it's been basicallly on repeat since October.

That's a horrible track listing, no flow at all. All of these types of threads are stupid, the album is what it is.

I think the track listing is perfect. I just wish they title was "The Shock of a Lightening" because the album really is.. the shock of a lightening.. and it hits you like one as well.

The 2nd last track is almost as important as the last track in my opinion, and putting Nature of Reality as the 2nd last track is one of the biggest problems with DOYS. If they had switched Falling Down with Nature of Reality, we wouldnt have to hear about how weak the last few tracks of the album are.

HHL and AGN were orignally intended as b-sides, but 'Come on, it;s alright' and RM weren;t recorded in time, they missed the cut.
