Before I had itunes, I used to rip my CDs onto my PC via Windows Media Player, and since Ive downloaded itunes, I've only ripped it via itunes. However, I still have quite a lot of music (Bootlegs for example) that Ive saved in My Music (As opposed to iTunes Library). Is there a way I can cut and paste lots of music from My Music to the itunes folder without having to go through each song and find it again in itunes. Thanks

you should be able to drag folders of music into your itunes application window, and it should then copy it to the itunes library

i have a question about itunes
when you delete a music folder for example definitely maybe, when you newxt sync your ipod definitely maybe has gone from ipod.
so obviously you have to keep all your music on your comp if not you lose it on your ipod.
anyway my question is,if i bought an external hard drive then moved all my music folders there, would they still be on my ipod,or would i need to keep my external hard drive connected while having my ipod conncected?
hope this dont sound too confusing lol

you can move the itunes music folder to anywhere, even on an external Harddrive, but if you wanted to sync your ipod, you would need to have the harddrive connected so that it can access the music and update.... once syncronised you can disconnect your ipod and harddrive with no worries, but itunes would only play your music if the harddrive is connected. hope thats a help

go into the prefs, check "copy files to itunes music folder" and "keep organized" then consolidate library (on mac it is file->library->consolidate library)

as long as it doesnt delete the itunes music folder itll stay on the comp, if you are going to delete itunes id at least backup that folder to make sure.

Off topic, yeah, but if I were you I'd use EAC to rip CDs. Works like a charm and the rip quality is more accurate and consistent.
It's free too, and that's always awesome.
