Gem, Andy and whatever the current drummer is called are employees who clock in before the show. Noel is a businessman with distain for the people who supported him (and kept the faith through the rubbish years, i.e. 1998 to present) and Liam is living in denial.

I've met Noel on several tours and ironically, THIS tour and the Stop the Clocks tour he did with Gem seem to be the two times he's in the best mood, even smiling! Case in point - a photo I took at the Ottawa show on this tour: He's not jumping for joy but he doesn't look bitter and miserable at all.

Well, could the toronto 'assault' have something to do with it? I mean, they were supposed to be building up momentum with those early canadian gigs and then that happened! But whatever, i don't know what you guys expect really. They're not going to act like the Rolling Stones, this is Oasis, as long as the music sounds good it's a good gig.

No one wants them to start jumping around and dancing on stage, but just to put more energy into their shows instead of standing their like statues. These days Gem and Andy just stand their with a miserable face on, Liam can't be arsed to sing properly, and Noel tends to just wander around and start playing while facing the back of the stage. With the old lineup in the past they didn't run around on stage and all that, but at least you could tell they were happy to be there. C'mon? When was the last time u saw Gem or Andy laughing on the stage? I think isn't very natural to be fookin happy at every fookin show. Noel loves being on the stage, but it seems that the rest of the band is a bit tired, well they're older now so I thing I can undertand

From the beginning of Oasis that they give a flying fuck about us.

i think the only one who looks completely bored and maybe is so is Andy Bell. I mean look at the pics, watch the videos...the guy is not enjoying himself and to be honest it sucks. I think he is like ...i failed to become a great singer or songwriter and now have to play the secondary role in oasis...he used to be a frontman. i am starting to not like Andy Bell at all.. look at Guigsy...he was a hell of a guy!!!! Bring Back Guigsy!!! ;D ok, to be honest, he cant play bass.
but nothing against Liam... hes completely into it. i was in Cologne at a really small gig, like probably back in 94... he was so connecting with people, with music...everything...i mean he is trying to sing properly....if you dont agree, watsch the gigs from the last tour...that was shite..watch Buenos Aires...he doesnt hit notes he is out, bored and tired... but this tour he is another person. like back in the 90's.... Noel is allright, too i think and Gem for sure...

I have to say I miss the days of all the banter they used to have with the crowd and each other, there isn't enough of it these days and when there is people take it too fucking seriously. Gigs like Wembley 2000 2nd night, Loch Lomond 96 & Maine Road 96 are how gigs should be. It all adds to the experience of being at a gig and having a good time. A little more interaction with the crowd and looking like your enjoying performing wouldn't go a miss, it seems pretty evident that they would rather be somewhere else at times.

Thinking about it, taking a shit load of drugs obviously played a heavy part in how they acted on stage during the gigs I mentioned but I'd still like to think they can bring a bit of the old Oasis back without the need for drugs.

just wana chime in on the its fun to see liam not give a fuck argrument. i think in the 90's you wanted to be at every show for the music and liams attitude, you never knew what was gonna happen.. now its not liam's attitude or him not giving a fuck, its the same things over and over, its like an act.. at some point in the concert he will put the tambourine on his head, another time he will put in in his mouth, another time he'll stare at the crowd and end with a tambourine clap.. its cool, its his act, but its like now-a-days you go to one gig you've go to em all, i saw them 5 times in 2005, after last nights garden gig i have no desire to see them for another 3 years or atleast till the setlist changes.

By the way, Gem always looks interested...if he's not into it, why's he doing windmills and singing along to every song? And I agree that Andy's just a quiet guy - that's just him - but he chose to be a musician for a reason.

stop repeating what they say trikz no one i expecting them to jump around. if you're a fan, you dont mind. if you remember them from the 90's and wanna check them out after all these years, especially andy, gem and noel, you'll see they look BORED and DULL as fuck. not talking about the music. thats how it is. Ha ha, so true. So many people on this forum take what Noel and Liam say in interviews as the Bible, such as that ridiculous and cliched response Noel/Liam always give when they are asked why they never move when performing. These are the same people who will say 'Blur/Coldplay/Pearl Jam, etc suck' Think for yourself. Jezuz.

I completely agree with that analysis. But, I still can't deny 'em. It's like a girlfriend who doesn't love you anymore, but still shags like a minx as friends w/ benefits...
