ears still ringing. From where i was sitting, great crowd in my section but elsewhere a little subdued as expected for LA and the band on good form - same set list of course. venue packed except for the nosebleed seats, and some guy got thrown out right at the start for some reason - or as noel suggested, he requested a be here now song. i'M oUTTA Time was spot on, Liam hit every note.

just got back from the show myself. Great Gig. My area was also full of enthusiastic fans singing along and cheering every chance they got. What was the deal with that guy that got thrown out right at the start? Liam told him to stop doing something, because "this is a rock and roll show." Kyle Gass from Tenacious D was couple rows down from where I was. Overall a great show.

the only complaint i have is that a few people that went to the gig.. i mean their were these 3 old men who were sitting down, stuffing their faces with food and just drinking beer all night.. and when ever anyone stood up in front of them they would start shouting "sit down".. i mean for fucks sake its a gig why sit down,, to be honest i hate people who just to gigs and sit down and know fuck all about oasis songs Bar "wonderwall."

Just got back from the show and my god, what an experience. It was an emotional thing, i was so happy and thrilled and man, life changing. I was 20 rows back and good seats, see everything and the BEST songs were played and the brothers were top notch first class, every song was a treat. Im just still in awe about it. Finally since i was 10 and hearing champagne supernova for the first time 12 years later i see my favorite band of all time LIVE! Amazing!!!
jealous of the lucky one who got the tambourine btw. haha. Ya, who got kicked out and i loved how he told someone up front to get off the phone. haha

Yeah the show was incredible! It topped their performances at The Hollywood Bowl and KROQ's Inland invasion in 2005 for sure!!! Liam was just so fucking cool. Their videos were pretty cool too, I kept getting stuck watching them and forgot that I could actually be looking at Oasis! Gigs always suck when they end cuz who the hell knows when they will come back to LA. Especially with all these new solo album talks, ah well. MORNING GLORY sounded killer!

I wouldn't have called it a sellout by any means. I doubt there was more than 8,000 in the building. They should have put the show at Universal or the theatre across the street but then I was able to buy 2 tix for $20 outside so I guess it worked out. I was in the sit down section too but I think everyone there won their tix and most people only knew about 3 songs.

The Police drew just over 16,000 paid and that was with the entire upper deck and all the seats behind the stage. A lot of people in 206 were comped so many attending didn't even buy tickets. It took me 20-30 mins to just give away a ticket outside too.

Right then, I just woke up, literally from a wild and fun night in Downtown L.A. Tooo many Stella's at Hotel Fig. I wanna THANK ALL OF YOU THAT MADE IT OVER. Apologies for the after party though, the fucktard that promised us full Oasis songs all night, dipped out early so we had to deal with Moroccan theme music. After a proper drinking session with fellow Oasis fans at the pre party, we decided to miss out on Matt Costa's & Ryan Adams set and continue boozin'. At 8:35 got a text from a friend inside the venue notifying us that Ryan A. had just played his last song. Made our way over to Staples. Manage to sneak in some spliff, friends snuck in digis, no problem. Once we got inside, WOOOOOOW, the place was PACKED. A really good vibe from everyone. lol with a really great herbal buzz capped off by several Stella's, I was definitely feeling SUPERSONICCCCC! (but not outta it, like a few folks) lol. Soon as FITB blasted out, I tried to chill at some empty seats in Sec 2 row 10 but, the original guest turned up, had to settle with my own seats of sec. 3 row 18. Finally OASIS come on stage to a very close to sold out (I say close about, 99.5% sold out) Liam looked absolutely Saint like in his white long shirt, totally BHN era. I can't quite recall the order, I was too much in awe the whole time. My area kinda sucked but, there were two HOT chicks, that were piss drunk, right infront of me, that danced and sang every word throughout the entire gig. and a few inback, just sang along. But, as someone mentioned the crowd for its entirety, SUCKED. The sound was awesome and woodstock loud, I LOVED IT. Liam really did deliver, he sounded great and hit many notes. Its no MG voice but, for all the slack he's been getting this was his big two finger salute to all the haters! I had a friend in the 1st row, dead center in front of Liam, and at the start of the gig, some prick got thrown out for sneaking into the gig w/out a tix and was I think being a bit too sexual with his two lady friends, that Liam said "its a rock n roll show" and asked one of the girls, "what are you doing with him?". My friend met Morrissey at the gig apparently Moz was rockin out kinda dancing around. Funny, Moz at gigs. For a near 50yr old guy, he's fuckin cool, cos you always hear of him going to all these gigs.lol One of the drunk girls infront of me, midway throught Cigs n alc. turns around and says, "come the encore lest make a mad dash for the front". So when Liam said "....this it the last one" we knew it was time. When the lights went down I took off in the darkness and found an empty seat at the end of sec 2 THIRD ROW, no sign of my accomplisce!!!!! Let me tell you, the pix I was takin with my iphone from 18 rows suxxxxx but, as soon as I landed third row they improved. I managed to see the whites of Noels eyes for DLBIA. His vocals sounded very heartfelt, and the crowd sang back every word. I think the band had a good time. However, if I recall correct, there was ZERO interaction between Rkid and Noel. Liam came out for the final two songs in the encore. During Champagne Supernova, I flashed him my Manchster jacket and he dug it. Midway through the song, Im dancing around when someone taps my shoulder, it was my accomplice, she too had made it up down the front. Here is where the whole night gets a bit bittersweet for me, at the end of the IATW, I asked Liam if I could get his tamborine, and he fuckin tossed it out. Ofcourse you all know that I wasnt gonna be the only one reaching for it, so some drunk girl went up for it as well. lol I being of tall stature was prevailent!!! mili seconds after my catch, some, what I initially thought, some punk ass 15yr old kid is trying to, along with the drunk chick, snatch the tamborine out my hand. So to put shit right, I looked up at Liam and asked, did you toss it at me or did you toss it at the kid? So he motioned that he'd intended it for the kid. So I gracefully handed it to the boy and gave him a hug and congratulated him. Liam Gallagher showed complete compassion and respect, for the boy who Id never laid eyes on before, turns out was mentally challanged. The kid also tossed up the Q mag with Liam on the cover, Liam took it and signed it for him. At the end of the gig, I asked Jason for a set list, he grabbed Noels and tossed it, however it failed to cross the barricade. I asked the lame ass "rent-a-cop" for it, and he said "no, the shows over, you gotta go, now" so I moved to the side to try and persuade another guard, when suddly I see the same prick that said I had to go and refused to give me the set list Jason tossed for me, hand it to some skanky looking braod!! I went from a 14 (gig emotions and catching the tamborine) to a 9 when I handed it to the kid and getting burned on the setlist.....VEGAS here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great night out. From where I was sitting--er, standing--the crowd was into it. I've been to 4 shows this go round and Liam and Noel haven't acknowledged each other's presence on the stage yet. Brothers will be brothers, I guess. I know I'm stating the obvious, but what an amazing band!

Oasis stronger than ever at Staples Center Powerfully back to basics, the British band is once again at the top of its game. By BEN WENER THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER Who'd have thought Oasis, the Britpop holdover that seemingly couldn't be more out of vogue, could fill Staples Center? For the matter, who'd have thought a band with such a fractious history and spotty track record would still be together at this point, let alone still visiting the States? I don't mean to be ignorant of the recent past – it was only three years ago that these blokes pretty much packed the Hollywood Bowl – or naïve about the group's ever-growing cult appeal, as new Anglophiles coming of age every year glom on to the Gallagher brothers' work as quickly as they do that of the Beatles, or Blur. So perhaps this turnout should have been expected. Still, could anyone, even Noel and Liam's staunchest, Ben Sherman-wearing true-believers, have suspected that now, in support of their seventh album in twice as many years, Oasis would sound stronger than ever live? Let's back up to the first question. To be accurate, the band didn't actually fill Staples Center Thursday night, in a rousing one-off show bolstered by a superb hour of fresh-vintage rock 'n' roll from Ryan Adams & the Cardinals and a valiant acoustic performance from O.C. singer-songwriter Matt Costa, delivered to just a few hundred early birds. As was the case when Matchbox Twenty and Alanis Morissette headlined here in March, the upper decks at the arena were mostly masked off, and any open areas were only sparsely dotted with lookie-loos. Generously figure the four-hour event drew a little under 10,000 fans. But what excitable fans! Of the '90s giants that have endured, only Pearl Jam attracts more intense devotion from people who clamor to hear new songs as much as old favorites. Increasingly their patience is being rewarded: After a rocky decade of hit-and-miss work following the international breakthrough "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?," Oasis regained its footing with 2005's "Don't Believe the Truth," a modestly scaled, back-to-basics set that the Manchester band has considerably expanded upon with this year's robust release "Dig Out Your Soul." Restoring both the sonic boom and psychedelic swirls that defined their earliest work, the Gallaghers and their trusty mates (guitarist Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell, newish drummer Chris Sharrock) are once again crafting monster anthems that almost require a vast space like Staples Center to be properly heard. (They also remain unashamedly derivative. The new song "Waiting for the Rapture" so obviously takes after the Doors' "Five to One" that Variety writer Steve Mirkin and I spontaneously broke into it as Noel led into its opening stomp. "At least he's stealing from Americans now," Mirkin quipped.) What's impressive, if not unthinkable, is how well Oasis' recent music coalesces with staples like "Supersonic" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" and "Champagne Supernova." There are twists to the bombast now, be it the fast-and-furious charge of "The Meaning of Soul" or the roiling tumble of "Falling Down" or the "Rain"-y haze of "To Be Where There's Life." None of it, however, is so far removed from the band's blueprint that Noel and Liam are left looking as if straining to fit in. Keeping pace with modernity, after all, was their undoing at the turn of the millennium. Now they gleefully bounce through "Lyla" like it was the B-side to "Live Forever" and conjure new ballads (like Liam's wistful reflection "I'm Outta Time") that hold their own next to something as indestructible as "Wonderwall." (Click here for a complete set list.) Apart from a pair of mid-career gems (Liam's fleeting "Songbird," Noel's philosophical "The Masterplan") reminding of iffy efforts not many people bought, it's as if the intervening years and albums never happened. At least you get the sense the Gallaghers wish they hadn't. Down front early in the performance there was a commotion, with Liam instructing security to escort someone out. Noel later explained, and I couldn't tell you if he was joking or not: "That guy got thrown out for asking for tracks from 'Be Here Now' (the band's self-maligned 1997 disc). That'll teach him. We don't do requests." No, they pretty much offer the same sort of set they always have: roughly 20 songs, a third of it spotlighting Noel instead of his brother (loved his softer acoustic version of "Don't Look Back in Anger"), the bulk of it carried by Liam's inexplicably powerful sneer (he hasn't sung so heartily in at least a decade), all of it wrapped up with a knowing homage, a cover of "I Am the Walrus." It's now curiously comforting to encounter. In many ways, Oasis is as meat-and-potatoes as rock gets anymore – maybe that's why its music still tastes so rich. "We've been fantastic," Liam declared at the conclusion. For a change, he had reason to brag: Whether anyone but ex-pats and wannabe Brits cares anymore, it's undeniable Oasis is at the top of its game again. Ditto Ryan Adams, who has spent the latter half of this decade honing his craft with a backing band, the Cardinals, that more and more resembles his Crazy Horse. Not that they get so fuzzed-out and heavy, though even in a set devoted primarily to songs from their fifth album together, "Cardinology," they can prove capable of it. It's more that the Cardinals root the mercurial Adams in accessibility; their collaboration leads him to self-edit and refine, still permitting room to flourish yet forcing more focus. Prolific as ever, he's now achieving a high level of consistency, penning sublime, classically molded winner after winner fusing all facets of his artistry – the swagger of "Rock N Roll," the polish of "Gold," the sumptuousness of "Cold Roses," the alt-country heartbreak that's been coursing through his work all along. Thursday night, in a potent performance, he drew from all of that, making warm like the Band on the early solo staple "Come Pick Me Up," roaming confused through the identity crisis of "Off Broadway" and the heartache of "Fix It," breezing into "When the Stars Go Blue" and "Two," eventually pouncing with the cyclical melody of "Magick." (Click here for a complete set list.) Through it all, in his tight-fitting suit-and-tie attire, he unfurled sly solos and attacked the microphone, leaning into it with a fierceness that belied his soft-spoken shyness between songs. Finally, the enfant terrible seems to have been humbled – and his music is all the better for it. Contact the writer: 714-796-2248 or bwener@ocregister.com www.ocregister.com/articles/oasis-noel-liam-2247974-gallagher-ryan?slideshow=1His nasal sneer as powerful as ever, Liam Gallagher of Oasis was in top form during the British band's rousing performance Thursday at Staples Center, whether on '90s favorites like "Champagne Supernova" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" or new anthems like "I'm Outta Time" and "To Be Where There's Life."

Liam dedicated I forget what song it was but, to the lady of Olvera Street" And he asked "Are there any surfers here today?" He must of seen quite a few earlier that day. My friend who works along Main Street in Santa Monica phoned me up and told me he'd met Liam on Main Street earlier in the afternoon. He also asked " Are there any English fans here tonight" he got a good roar back. Noel introduced Chris as their 15th drummer. lol JOKES! And made some crack about Jay Darlington.

The Masterplan was the highlight of the whole night but then I listen to that CD more than any of the others.
The only thing I could even understand was at the beginning when Liam said "dedicate this song to the ladyboy frontin' Aerosmith."
5th time seeing Oasis, I liked it a lot more than the Hollywood Bowl show mainly because I don't like the Hollywood Bowl and at least the sound was loud and clear. Probably one of the better sounding shows I have heard at Staples.
This show was never even on the radar until earlier this week when I decided to head down to Staples to see what would happen. There was another event in town the same night so I at least had a backup plan if things didn't work out. But someone sold me a ticket for $20 immedietly after I got there then about ten minutes later just gave me another ticket. I tried to see if I could trade the pair for a decent single but I wanted to see Ryan Adams and no one would be dumping the good seats that early. Finally after 20-30 mins I found someone who was looking for a single so I just gave it to him and went in.
Ryan Adams was pretty good but it doesn't really translate well to an arena. Played almost a whole hour.

Good on ya Jilliam for giving it to the guy who Liam intended it for - as painful as that would have been! At the Ottawa show (where I was super close and hoping to have a chance at it) this drunk asshole next to us kept BADGERING Liam for the tambourine. Liam threw it out to a girl to shut him up, but he grabbed it! Liam even called him out on it and told him to give it to the girl, but he refused. He then proceeded to shake the tambourine and sing drunkenly and was ridiculously annoying throughout the rest of the night. At some point I mouthed him off (knowing he wouldn't hit a girl). Ha. Anyway, karma happens for good reasons...he'll get his. I'm still dreaming about that tambourine - hopefully if I keep hoping one day I'll get lucky

Great gig. One of the best I've seen (and I've been to over 100 over the years). I was at Montreal and Toronto and the lads were considerably better last night. Mainly thanks to Liam's energy and ability to stay on-key. Some of the UK arena video bootlegs were just painful to endure from him. Appalling. But I'm here to tell you, Liam was back in form last night.
Noel seemed more subdued than normal. Hangover-ish. Liam owned the night, which doesn't happen much, at least for me, now. Good for him tho.
I'll be at Chicago and MSG. I'm sure they'll kickass in NYC, we'll see about Chee-cago. But the lads are back, at least live, from what I saw last night.
