i don't get what's so hard about the bag it up,, like someone else said just 5 chords... simply sounds like just a full-on rock song to me.. .. the turning may be a bit more complex, but c'mon it's not like they are amateurs or a pub band, surely they could work it out?? the drummer is no excuse, lookit u have one of the best drummers in the world right now, actually, i think the most complex song (musically) is falling down, and they play it EVERY NITE, and they are on it EVERY NITE... and it just happens to be a noel song... what a coincidence EDIT: by that I mean Noel on vox,, u know where i'm going

There are fucking hundreds of them! tut tut, noel is a big boy, the rest of the band are accomplished musicians as well, like i said THEY ARE NOT A FUCKING PUB BAND , they could play it if they wanted to... we all know the REAL reason why they don't (kermit) ... the same reason why they didn't play keep the dream alive during the dbtt tour. bands like zep... yes... e.l.p. ... have u ever heard some of the arrangemnets they have pulled off live,, much much more complex than 'bag it up', seriously ok I couldn't play it,, but for an experienced rock band such as oasis?? c'mon... and u haven't addressed my point about falling down.. .. how 'come they play that live and they nail it 100 percent every time.

The Turning could easily be "filled" with the second guitar playing piano parts. I think that song would be one of the highlights of the night. Think about it, its one of the few oasis songs this decade that captures the magic of the first 3 albums. The mellow start to the big build up in the song, to the rocking chorus. COmbine that with some kick ass visuals. I'd take seeing that song over seeing anything else except Slide Away (full disclosure: slide away is my all time favorite oasis song). It is a shame. Maybe they bring it out for the stadium shows. They better at least release those on Dvd if they ever play that out.

it'S a travesty shock o'da lightning got picked as first single over the turning. the latter would have been a better choice album-promotion-wise.

I never understand bands who put songs on an album that they cant actually play live.

i really don't care what the reasoning is for them not playing it truthfully this is the lamest thing they have done in the 10 years i have been a fan...not playing these songs is beyond lazy and very dissapointing.....furthermore The Turning should have been the first single...they're decisions in terms of setlists, in terms of marketing and single choices have been overly frustrating for me. There is just some obvious shit that should be happening thats not. Warner has done a worse job then sony promoting the album (i work for a major music store chain so i know) Just another point...it has been the most expensive oasis album on the release date ever. on the positive side the Dig Out Your Soul box set is quite mind blowing and the album isn't bad either

Bag It Up is not on the setlist because Liam can't sound remotely good singing it.
And it really pisses me off because it's my favorite track on DOYS

they are waiting for 2009 stadium dates, for me it's clear sensible. The first sensible thing I've yet read on this thread. Honestly, now. They don't play 2 of the songs on the album and we all get militant about it?? I think that you all have pretty decent appreciation for the reasons thus far discussed, the most salient of which is that they aren't comfortable playing it. Give them time. PS - I don't know how many of you have played in a serious rock band, but I played in one that has three albums out. After the CD release the new songs only trickled into the setlist cos you want to keep things fresh. We may not see Bag It Up; we may not see The Turning. But I can tell you this, we will hear one of them sometime. And I'll tell you something else.... you'll build it up to be the most amazing thing Oasis will ever play, and then it will fall flat on its face and you'll all be disappointed because it failed to meet the expectations. So whatever, just sit back and enjoy.

GGTIA got thrown in the set in the middle of the tour, such as Acquiesce and there's of course, Headshinker which was played during the first gig... not that it really counts but I'm worried that they'll stick to this same exact setlist till the end of the tour.... that woukd be absolute boring
