Anyhow, where's the thread about the horrible/useless b-sides they released off the last two albums? She Is Love Wont Let Your Down The Quiet One Sitting Here In Silence Rock'N'Roll Star (Live) My Generation Columbia (Live) + Lord Don't Slow Me Down didn't even have any b-sides! Fair enough question, but I'd take WLYD over any one of these remixes. The LBL single was admittedly worthless. And I think we have all agreed that we're sick of the live b-sides; we've had threads about that in the past. In general, the band has at least put out a couple of good ones in between the not-so-good ones (before now). The SCYHO single was the best single they had released since their third album. I think most people would soften their language about the strength of previously unreleased songs as b-sides if the band took things back in that direction.

I wouldn't say this thread proves that even half of us like the remixes. I think the general consensus is that the remixes, in general, are a mistake. TBWTL and FD are the only two that are consistently mentioned as being interesting. The rest are tepid at best (with the Kooner remixes getting the prestigious Sucks Giant Exploding Monkey Balls Award). Okay, none of those songs were amazing. Granted. But allow me to form a counterargument: She Is Love (was a double-A-side, so sorry mate, it doesn't count) Wont Let Your Down (GREAT little tune) The Quiet One (has a quaint little melody) My Generation (nice to have a Studio version) That leaves Sitting Here In Silence Rock'N'Roll Star (Live) Columbia (Live) Which either suck or are just live songs. But if that's the case why aren't we raggin on the REALLY early singles that have acoustic and live versions of songs from DM on them? At any rate, we went from having new songs and a couple of live/alternate versions to having NO NEW MATERIAL whatsoever. None.

For the record, I believe LDSMD did have two b sides. Live version of The Meaning of Soul (I know, exciting) and one other track from COM.

I think Noel is being so cautious as to not make any Acquiesce/Masterplan mistake. He's giving us no b-sides beccause if he does, there is a chance they might be good, and good songs need to be on albums. High Horse Lady, however, is not a good song.
