Is it just me or is there some odd sound in The Turning track at the 2:35 mark? It sounds like a misplaced beeeeeep, like a sound mixing error. It just doesn't sound like it was meant to be in the song because it is out of rhythm.
Is it the sound of an electric guitar being plugged in to the amp?
Just curious if anyone else has heard this, because I find it jarring and out of place in the song. It is quite noticeable.

I heard it. Strange. I don't think its THAT noticeable unless you're listening for it.
Now I'm gonna hear it every time...

It sounds like a guitar feedbacking in, preceded by the sound a guitar makes when you mute the strings and strum. Sorta like the bit before the chorus in Creep by Radiohead...

I do not know of this. What do you mean? when DBTT came out, caro insisted there was a noise at 4.23 or something and some very few people could hear it, myself excluded ;D this one is clearly noticeable if you pay attention

maybe they're planning to pull a "cum on feel the noize" thing with The Turning
only play it at the big summer shows?
i still think theres no way they go through the whole tour without playing it once
has noel ever been quoted in regards to playing the turning live? ive read statements about how they had a hard time getting a Bag It Up right during rehearsals, but he was conspicuously mum about The Turning imo

The Turning WILL be played eventually. It's too good a song not to be, at least the 2nd best on the album

I can only notice it now that you've mentioned it, BASTARD! My coffee almost came out my nose when I read this for some reason. Too funny. Deep down, I'm sadly satisfied that I wrecked a few minds out there. Seriously though.... it is most noticeable when you have the album cranked up, which of course, makes this an eternal problem (when do you ever play Oasis to accompany dinner?) Someone needs to ask Noel or Dave Sardy. They are the only two that would know, but my guess it is a recording error, and not some genius way of announcing a change of key (it does come in right around the guitar solo where the song goes from jazz to rock). Yes, I said it, jazz.

Yes, I said it, jazz. Usually too stoned while Im listening to it, that I forget to listen to the beep, lol. But, on a diffrent note, I was reading the Liam int. in "Clash" mag. last night and he was asked what song off DOYS would be played live during the tour, and he mentions, "FD, TBWTL,...and one other one I forget which one.." Hoping he means The Turning...we're two weeks ago from the L.A. gig.......im dying..

It's just feeback from a guitar. You can notice stuff like that in a lot of rock tracks especially older ones.
