Excerpt from Billboard in www.oasisnewsroom.comNoel compares the new material to "mid-era Kinks," referencing songs such as "Dead End Street" and "Harry Rag." "They all seem to be based around the same four or five chords," Gallagher says. "It's vastly different from what ('Dig Out Your Soul') is." There's also a thematic unity that he likens to Neil Young's "Greendale." "It's kind of like that, but modern," Gallagher says. "There's stuff about soldiers and religious people and rock stars and travelers. They seem to be all songs about people, but not people I know. And they all seem to have a narrative; it's kind of like a story which follows on from song to song."

Damnit. Sounds like DBTT type stuff.

Don't worry he'll change his mind and scrap that idea and it'll turn into something totally different!

As much as I would love to hear those songs they'll probably never see the light of day. A concept album would be interesting.

Damnit. Sounds like DBTT type stuff. Sounds about right. If that's the case, I think I would rather have a solo album from him with these tunes.

If he wrote all the songs on this demo album that most likely means that this will be a solo album. He could also get rid of a couple of his songs or add some contributions from the rest of the band. I think once the tour is over he'll announce a solo album.

I just hope they won't strip the sound down.
Bring on the chorus or orchestra, experiment and make the songs fucking huge!

Sounds like DBTT stuff .. but when it's compared with some of the nice producing off DOYS (songs like The Turning, IOT FD are great produced), and better songs then DBTT, which I expect they will be ... then it could be a very good album..
And don't worry, Oasis albums will get better and better, DBTT was better then HC, and DOYS is better then DBTT, so the next one, will be better then DOYS ...
We'll see when the next one will be released...

One word: Bullshit.
Noel undoubtedly did write these songs; but I 'Bill-guar-an-tee' that they will never see the light of the day.
When the next the next album comes out, all the magazine interviews will have him saying "Well, I wrote these tunes an' such, but I realized this new batch were so monumental, that I couldn't be bothered to record 'em any more. But yes, they are still brilliant."
Total bullshit.

Whatever... you know what. I don't know what the next album will be like, but I seriously hope it is vastly different from DOYS. Not because I don't like DOYS (which I don't) but because I think that Oasis should keep producing different albums, which has been going on now since SOTSOG

I want the new album right now!!!! All I really want is for Oasis to not break up so any material is fine. I don't know what I would do without Oasis.

Noel comes out with this sort of rhetoric every year and in the end the finished product is nothing like how he's described.
His descriptions for DBTT were embarrassing, every song was somehow "Neil Young meets whoever on smack". In the end it sounded fuck all like it.

i really don't expect much from the next album. Oasis have become all about selling tickets and touring. I reckon that DOYS will be the last album the band make a concerted effort with. they spent loads on the recording, produciton and marketing and at the end of the day it makes no difference.

I'd say a million sold tickets on a day or whatever the hell it was, will easily cover the next couple of albums and more. Noel been talking a lot about solo stuff lately. If both Noel and Liam would two studio albums, I'm all for it. This'll give us even more material. As long as it dosn't halter any future Oasis albums.

Well, whether or not they try is secondary. If they have good tunes, then they come in moments of inspiration. And there will be more! Let's just hope there will be more songs on the horizon!

There's nothing better than a early Noel quote about the next album to spark debate.
Remember the last time? "Full orchestras" "The album Be Here Now was supposed to be"...
And yet, I still love the idea he's thrown out there. Even though we'll hear "Well by the time I got around to recording, I couldn't be arsed anymore, d'ya know what i mean? So we went a different way...With get off your high horse lady (The reprise)" eventually.

He'll be going on about new material right up until the new album details leak but we'll only get like 6-7 of his songs. Either he's full of shit or his songs really aren't that good. Listening to Stop The Clocks and Record Machine, my money's on the latter.

As pointed out, Noel almost always makes such claims. I don't think he's lying, just that his ideas change over the time.
I'm going to believe hm on this one, though. Remember, DOYS wasn't the intended album, either. So I'm presuming that the next album will be more along the lines he talked about prior to DOYS. Eitherway I think we can almost count on an epic release of RM, and MAYBE a final version of STC, too.
The future is bright for Oasis, imo

Since Noel's adoration about the album A Montrous Psychedelic Bubble, i think the next one will be a mix between this and DOYS, meaning it will be even more psychedelic.
