I've got more problems than a math book. Tell me where I'm going wrong here please.
First, I download files from Live4ever mostly from links provided by members that lead me to from rapishare, megaupload etc. These are invaribly in RAR format, so I downloaded a FREE program called "7 Zip" that "unzips" these. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and I have no idea why....they're all rar files and usually when I right-click on the file it gives me the option to unzip them with 7 zip, but sometimes it doesn't...what gives?
When it DOES work, I'm left with "unzipped" VOB files, so I of course need a program that can open or play these, correct? Now, I'm assuming windows media player and itunes cannot play these files because when I attempt to open a VOB file with either program, nothing happens. I downloaded what I thought was a "free" converter/player for these only to find out it wasn't free.
Can someone tell me where I can get a FREE, reliable program to play/convert these files?
It seems to me that there are dozens and dozens of video file types, is there any one program that can address this problem?
Please inform me if my entire approach to this is incorrect, I'm losing my mind trying to get these files on and opened on my cpu. Can I convert and store them (video files) all in itunes?
thanks everyone, I'm a hopeless idiot when it comes to this shit.

Classic Media Player or VLC Media Player can open single VOB files.
WinRar is best to extract Rar/Zip files.

Great, another mod-move to an area where no one will see anything. Was there a problem with a thread with questions about downloads being located in the "downloads" area?
jesus christ.

you might be missing codecs
vlc uses its own codecs, try that, it's free and small.
k-lite installs all the necessary codecs, some of them you'll need them, some don't, but it comes with a great player.

If you have a bunch of VOB's in a row after downloading a show, just use Nero or something like it to burn all the files onto DVD (be sure you choose DVD-Video and not data DVD) and presto it plays in the DVD player.
