I watched the highlights twice last night, and just watching the full gig on bbc red button thing now. Fucking awesome.
I thought the whole band sounded awesome all way through. Who gives a fuck if liam messed up a bit on the timing of lyla, they pulled it off and i thought it was alright. I thought MOS was cool, i wasn't sure when liam started to sing, but then he made it sound better than the album version imo, i loved the 'I'll Be Your Liiiight!' He just sounded like he was up for it.
So many highlights for me: The Masterplan, Wonderwall, CS with the choir was awesome. One of the best performances of morning glory i've heard for a while, even after a shakey start, liam pulled it off. DLBIA was the best version i've ever heard, noes holds back on the vocals, and it makes the song. AGN, IOT, Supersonic, TBWTL....quality.
And lastly, the best moment for me was IATW. The choir worked so well and liam rose up to it and give an incredible performance. I wasn't sure about this oasis gig, i was a bit worried that it might go tits up, but fair play to them, they pulled it out of the bag

The real missed opportunity of not changing the setlist: Roll It Over!! The choir in that song would've been awesome. Sadly I don't think Liam can manage it anymore.

Guess the Rolling Stones' cover was just a rumour then... No. When Noel was on Steve Lamacq's 6music show 2 weeks ago they played the song and Noel said they were going to do a version of it at the 'Leccy Proms.

Whats the bets on them recording the Stones cover as future b-side. With the choir. Beats some remix

My favourite non-musical bit of the concert:
Liam: Right...Wonderwall
Liam[menacingly]: Who's the c*nt who booed then?!!
Noel: Make sure you've got a better haircut than that if you're gonna boo.

Isn't Noel saying something about it in the interview? yeah he is, but i can't see a 50piece choir (or whatever it is) go travellin around GB, on every gig. obv it woul be great, just doubt it. noel can say a lot of things in the spirit of the moment As they were from Crouch End, it would be very possible at the Wembley gigs.

C'mon the Proms was special, what a fuckin awsome performance. I was a bit nervous that they wouldnt pull it off, but they did. The band,Liams voice & the Choir all sounded GREAT man.
The best bit, for me was Liam.....just being Liam!
I agree that they could have mixed the set list up a bit though to take advantage of the T.V spot & the choir but hey.
;D

I hear the Kermit, and I will go on record that I was the first one to compare Liam to Kermit. Nope. It was me. The day after Glasto '04.

Great gig I can't argue but I'm quite disappointed they didn't play at least one different song, it's not as if they'll be playing with a 50 strong choir at every gig so they had a chance here to mix things up a bit but not even one deviation from the setlist . It could've been even better than it was. Probably the best gig yet though

I thought Liam sounded pretty good TBH. Apart from Cigarettes and Alcohol where he just shouted really..

I thought Liam sounded pretty good TBH. I agree, he didn't really fuck up Lyla so much as come in a couple seconds too soon, making him look a bit stupid, but he corrected himself quickly enough.
