Hey befpre i start please dont anyone start kicking off that im going on about his voice, this is infact quite interestring.
I was reading about Robert Plant, and it said that on one of the albums he was suffering from "Nodules" in the throat, which leads to a huge drop in range and quality of the voice.
So i looked it up on wikipedia and a big list of singers came up who have suffered from it and most of them have had very successful treatment for it, on the list it said "Liam Gallagher the lead singer from oasis is rumoured to have nodules due to his poor live performances over the years.
So im not 100% but if he has got them, apparently if you get them successfully removed it gets your voice back to its near best.
Lets get a petition going for him to do it
I must say ... you are probably right.
Usually I don't post anything anymore on these kinda posts about Liams voice, because i get a bit tired of it... ,
but this is different ... because you seem to be one of the first people that realize what the real problem is...
Being a singer myself, I know a bit about singingtechniques and all that.
The thing is, Liam used he's voice in a wrong way. On Definitely Maybe, he has a snearing voice, but clean....
Then Morning Glory came out ... he's voice almost simular to DM.
But Liam didn't feel right with he's voice, he said himself !
He wanted to have a more raw rock 'n' roll voice. He said that when i listens back DM, he can hear some kind of Mickey Mouse singing ... a childish guy or anything ...
On Be Here Now you could that a bit .. and SOTSOG was the ultimate example of Liams "new" voice sound. He did this himslef, and he knew it.
And the way he use he's voice is really killing Liams voice. And if he will contineu like this, it will get worser and worser. And one day he will not be able to sing at all.
In fact he is overdoing he's vox. to much power on he's throat.
And stimulating it in a certain way to make it sound raspy.
In fact, everybody can do that. And if you do this long enought and as much enought, your (usually) clean singing voice, will damage, and will automaticly sound raspy. That's the point were you start to get these "nodules".
Well fact is that Liam used he's voice like that for to long. And after the the Glastonbury performance some years ago ... everybody started about Liams worse voice. It didn't sound like anything. Since then .. it stayed like that.. sometimes there are some ups and downs... but it seems like day by day the chances are more for the downs then the ups.
On albums he sounds okay ... but that's because he didn't have a tour for a while, and gave he's voice some rest. Then a voice can cure itself a bit .. but not for long. And high notes are still not as easy as they used to be.
On some songs you really can hear Liams voice had a time of rest. Like on Stop Crying Your Heart Out, I'm Outta Time, I Believe In All, Keep The Dream Alive.
But on some songs you really can hear it didn't have it's rest.
Like on Love Like A Bomb, Born On A Different Could ... and lot's of others...
But back to the nodules. A voice can get a bit of it's original sound back after a long break, but high notes will still not be easy. And it will start damage again after a real short time of singing.
The taking drugs and drinking doesn't really do good to a voice, but it doesn't effect a voice THAT much.
For Liam, his problem is just the way he is using he's voice.
It seems like he have seen the light. On some songs on DOYS he sings more low notes then usual. That keeps he's voice in shape, as long as he has these nodules.
And he is training a lot in gym and all that... that way he will get some more lung space, so he can hold he;s notes some longer.
But the shitty thing is that is using is raspy voice again on tour.
So now .. what can chance this all?
- No mega long voice-breaking tours
- A better balance between the bands instruments volume and
Liams voice volume ... so that Liam doesn't need to put a
overdose of volume on he's voice.
- Liam needs to stop he's bad behaviour by wanting to sound
raspy.
- A quality vocal trainer
- Surgery
Surgery ... ... It is quit a simple threatment, and most of the time it works out well. A good doctor is needed. I and don't doubt it that there is enough money in the Oasis pockets for a real good one. Liam would have to not speak for like 3 weeks or so (which might be interisting to experiment in Liam' s case lol) .. and after surgery some good trainer that will keep an eye (ear?) on he's voice.
There are NO DOUBTS ! LIAM DOES HAVE NODULES !
Ask a singer you know ... they will all tell you the same ...
It's just a fact.
Surgery is worth it.
Why ?
If Liam go's on like this, he probably will not be able to sing in like 4 to 6 years. Besides, even the "speaking" voice will be effected.
It is nessacary now, that's a fact, but it's up to Liam.
(ps: if u doubt my story, go and research the net, and ask some singers.. they will tell you the same story as I do)SO .. johnyb .. HEREBY I SIGN THE PETITION
