from that interview on the "NewRoom"
After your upcoming world tour, are there plans for another live album?
No, no plans to make any more. We are going to do this tour and see how it goes. I would like to make a new record pretty soon. As soon as we have finished the tour I would like to go back into Abbey Road [studios] and bang out some more music. And we've got plenty of songs. So a new Oasis record may come pretty soon.
There's always talk about Noel going solo. What is your comment on that?
Good luck to him. I hope he gives it away for free because I won't be buying it.
So what about Coldplay? Chris Martin said that compared to Oasis, they were the biggest.
I don't care about them. We are the coolest band and we are the best band. We are not the biggest band in America but who would want to be that?
I guess you've made quite a fortune?
Yes. But I've spent it all mate... I've spent it on fish.
lmfao@ that last part.

hey Salmon King! I dig.
A new album in spring 2010 is a reasonable expectation

Yeah, I hope he's right, but they're at the beginning of the tour...let's talk about it in 18 months.

I thought it was a 14 month tour... Isn't that what Noel said when he premiered the single on radio 1?

Liam has no control over how soon the next album comes out

Liam has no control over how soon the next album comes out Exactly. If anyone has the least control over album timing, I'd say it's Liam. However I do think one of the two brothers will make something happen after the tour. Either they'll both be in the mood to write, which means they'll go back into the studio together, or simply Noel will be in the mood, so a solo album might come about. Yes, I know Noel's thrown the idea out there a million times. But we know that he really liked the promotional touring for "Stop the Clocks," so I think it's reasonable to assume this is the next sort of project that could keep him occupied between Oasis albums. Either way, 2010 isn't happening. 2011 is reasonable. Like someone said earlier, wait and see how the tour goes.

ROTFLMAO.... yes, liam said it, , and it's on the internet...
so that means it has to be TRUE.

i wouldn't say 2011 is "reasonably"... 2011 would be what's expected actually. They've been releasing albums every 3 years for quite some time so... 2010 is what i would call "reasonable" i am not saying early 2010 but maybe mid2010 or late in that year. that'd be cool.

The only reason I didn't say that 2011 is "expected" is because I'm leaving a year or two leeway for the slim chance of a solo effort. But otherwise yes, you're right.

They should release a follow-up quickly, get some momentum going again.
Sadly, Noel's too conservative for that. We're stuck in the album-and-tour-every-three-years cycle.

If they really wanted to release the new stuff, the would & could. I.e., recording on off days. Recording on time off in between legs of tours., etc.
I think we'll see something summer 2010. They'll be on the road till then end of 09. Take 3 months off. If they have already demoed the new album, all that's left is final cuts and editing. That doesn't take that long as the actual sog writing process. Now if these fucks don't go off and get maried in the middle of the sessions, then the album should be out in no time. Lets just enjoy what we got and the current massive fucking tour.

Don't believe the truth, don't trust when Liam talking about their new album and don't trust when some Northern guy speaks his mind.
