i'll go ahead and be the first one to say it, on the Billboard 200 chart, #1 would have been out of the question(i think) but as far as iTunes, the would have easily charted @ no 1.
As of right now and since Tuesday, Ray Lamontagne is #1, followed by Kenny Chesney, now on average and just by the amount of reviews, NEITHER will have enough downloads to even match what Oasis had last week, which was around 20 thousand. Remember that they were #2 behind Rise Against and had some stiff competition from T.I. whose album was only in its second week.
So, this is obviously just "speculation" on my part HOWEVER i believe it will turn into fact come Wednesday when the new charts are made public. It is a shame because it is my belief that with both of those artists being the only "notables" release new albums, Oasis could have easlily charted higher.

can you believe that Oasis has fallen out of the top 10 on itunes and viva la vida by coldplay has just entered back at #10? That album has been out for almost 4 months!!!
The real success of DOYS will be apparent as you watch how it positions on the charts in the following weeks. If it drops over 30 spots each week, you know it was a one week success.....

Who gives a shit about how many records they sell in America. Most fans are in the UK and Ireland. They don't even care about being big in America and they say it regularly

Kenny Chesney is a big country artist, so I doubt they could still beat him. All his albums in the last years have gone to #1 or are in the top 3.
I honestly don't care anymore, they got to the top 5, that's enough for me. I bought the album and love it. Who knows? They might be up for a Grammy next year which will be great, especially if they make an appearance. Those don't really rely on how much copies you sell, AATW was nominated for Best Music Video, yet it didn't even chart in the Billboard Top 100.
And really, would you rather have a fad where an artist gets all their singles to number one everywhere and then they're forgotten? Oasis are not Britney Spears (I can't even believe she only has six top ten hits, it's because the albums sell really well), they aren't going to be shown drunk all over the place just so they can get media controversy. Plus, it's so natural for them that no one cares, they could actually do it and get away with it. It's not really major news for the paps to get into.

I would hate to see Oasis nominated for a Grammy. The show is a fucking joke.

I'm sorry I have to say this but you constantly post about Oasis getting to #1. Why is it such a big deal to be #1 in America? I do not want Oasis to be fighting for the #1 spot with Ray Lamontagne! So what I'm really trying to say is, who give a flying F***?

Some Oasis fans like seeing their band do well and get some recognition in a country that is surrounded by shit music. These threads are for people to express themselves, why is everybody so offended by posts about the bands success?

what so Oasis go to #1 then probably break the record for the fastest drop the week after.
No
#5 is very good for Oasis, I have always said this and i will say this again FFS! get it through your head.. it doesn not matter what it debuts at !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you wanna see if it's a success you have to see how it does in the long run!!!
for example.
Definitely maybe only peaked at #58 yet has sold 5x more than DBTT which made #12!!! another thing Morning glory debuted at #74 in it's first week but months later broke into the top5 and get 4platinum awards.
just wait and see how DOYS pan out in the cumming weeks/months. and not on just first week

Who even buys albums these days....I have only bought 4 Cd's since 2002, and 3 of them are oasis cd's. I'm 29 years old and don't even know how to work an ipod or download music any longer. I downloading from napster in college, once they got shut down I basically boycotted the music industry. I only buy Oasis albums and just listen to the radio otherwise.

They don't even care about being big in America and they say it regularly lol you're going to naively believe them when they say that? If they were selling huge in America, you can sure as hell bet that they would be boasting about it. They say now that they don't care about album sales, but would often bring up in the 90s how they were selling more records than anyone else.
