Note - this is not a negative review of the band's performance, just some initial thoughts on the gig the morning after. 9th UK Oasis Gig. First one in the seating areas, right at the fuc#kin back! Won't give an extensive review song-by-song, just some random views on the show. I accept that i was right at the back and that it was probably about 100 times better down the front: -Liam sounded okay, better than MTV performance the night before. -Love the new drummer, but still prefer Alan White. -Didn't think much to the acoustics in the venue at all. -Crowd was crap - worst i've known. -Set list contains good songs individually, but it felt a bit jumpy at times and didn't flow that well. -Andy Bell didn't move an inch the whole gig. -New songs not very well received. People around me didn't really even respond to TSOTL or IOT. -Liam and Noel just going through the motions. -Highlight of the night for me was the first three songs, RNRS, Lyla and TSOTL, and then I am the Walrus at the end. -Never going to an Oasis gig and not standing again as the people in the seated areas were all tw#ts who only knew two songs. Some of them thought The Meaning of Soul was a trendy new outro to Cigs and Alc!!

I went both nights, was seated Thursday and stood last night...thought both gigs were excellent. I noticed Liam's voice cracking up a lot more last night... I agree the first few songs RnRS, Lyla and TSOTL were brilliant. Highlight for me was Morning Glory which seems to have got a new burst of life to it. This was my 8th Oasis gig but I gotta say Hammersmith Apollo and Wembley Stadium 2000 first night are still my favourites.

I've been there too. It was the 4'th time I've seen them and the first one in UK. They were brilliant as always, the new ones sound ok, the old ones sound amazing. I was there right at the front so I cant say much about the sound quality or Liam voice but i have no complains.
My personal favorites:
WFTR, DLBIA, Lyla, CS, IATW
Cons: Slide Away - toooo slooow
Predictable setlist.
And the crowd - terrible, behaving Like animals. I love being there, right at the front but people in wembley arena made it almost impossible to enjoy. What's the point of throwing your beer on other peoples heads an shouting "live forever you fuckin vaginas" or "I fucked your mother Liam" (!) at the band you're supposed to love? I don't get it.
Apart from that - amazing as ever and made me wont more, more more.

Yeah i ended up going again the 2nd night, plus aftershow party! got bang on it with Tim Lovejoy, Gordon Smart (The Sun newspaper), Paul Gallagher n Ralph Little. Even got to have a little chat with Liam who was in a great mood.
For those who sent pictures of me regarding the leaking of STC, RM n AGN, Gordon said he'd never run the story after a conversation with Liam n Gem about me. SO fuck you all!!
Yeah i noticed Andy looked fucking bored most of night, never took his glasses off even afterwards, i'm not sure if Liam voice was actually better than the 1st night or whether he was mixed lower? I was dreading Slide Away n I'm Outta Time but he seemed to pull both off.
Yeah even in the posh seats I got covered in what i'm hoping was beer, we had a touch really... we bribed the barmaid when we 1st got in there so we got served 1st time everytime we went up there...
Again TBWTL n Falling Down was my personal highlight of the night, but this gig felt really weird, not the energy of normally seeing oasis, Liam started the gig by saying Southerners can't hold they're drink as there was alot of beer throwing, but there wasn't that intensity, he didn't mean it, almost as if old age is getting the better of them.
Roll On The Roundhouse!!! They're planning something special!!!

I know Gem really well... from when he was a sound man at Bull n Gate in Kentish Town, I had a plus 6 for both nights at Wembley n got plus 2 for Roundhouse, aftershow is at Proud Gallery
Met both Liam n Noel on numerous occasions... been out for a drink with Liam, Mani, Gillespie a couple of times, been cinema with Gem n Andy n families, gigs with Gem, used to serve up to the pair of them (Liam n Noel) in the Primrose Hill days thru Terry O'Neill who i know from football (rival firms, he West Ham n I'm Spurs) n when he did the kentish town forum, he used to do Liam's security until the Sunday Mirror shopped him for shottin, been an avid fan of the band from early days n had various links with them growing up.
I got the infamous DBTT demos from Gem, which managed to fall into the wrong hands n ended up on the internet unfortunately.
But we live n we learn

Both nights at Wembley were like that with a crap crowd? I'm guessing the gigs at Liverpool and Sheffield were better?

Crowd was appaling 2nd night, i dont know about other cities in uk but London crowd was terrible. Teenage vaginas drunk even before the set started and only enjoying the best off stuff, chatting like they were in the pub during the new ones. who the fuck pays 40£ to do that kinda stuff. Just go to your local pub and put There and Then or something, it'll be the same. No wonder Oasis dont change the setlist, people dont seem to enjoy anything past 95 material. Other than that the performance was pretty great
