Mods - Wasn't sure where to post this, or if to post it at all, so feel free to do what you like with it Right. As the username suggests I am from Sunderland, support Sunderland and go drinking in Sunderland every week, so if anyone is coming up for the gig I can answer questions. If anyone needs any help with travel or accommodation don't hesitate to get in touch. Contrary to belief Newcastle isn't the party capital of the world, Sunderland is a far better night out imo although obviously weekends are alot busier than Wednesday nights. Hotel wise there isn't a great deal. There is a Travelodge slap bang in the city centre and a couple of other budget hotels (Premier Inn, etc) just out of town - they'd be about £6 away in a taxi but too far to walk. For those on a bigger budget there is the Roker Hotel and Marriott Hotel in nearby Roker and Seaburn, they are both within walking distance but very swanky and expensive. There are loads of guest houses and B'n'B's around that way as well as it's on the sea front. Travel wise you're best getting the train to Newcastle then the Metro through to Sunderland which takes about half an hour. As I say, any questions just ask. I'm seriously buzzing with excitement here

I'm still in shock myself from the moment I saw The Enemy's bulletin saying they were supporting Oasis on myspace. Look down and see 'Stadium of Light Sunderland' . What do you reckon the best bet is for getting tickets. Me and mates were planning on camping out but I can't see that being anything other than chaos, and most probably ending up with you getting pushed out of any queue formed anyway. The sites will crash and phonelines will be locked up like hell. Any thoughts?

They've normally got decent security measures in place when people have queued up for the strips (not that I ever have), but I've never seen an overnight queue for tickets. I reckon most who do camp out will go over the town til 4am ish then head over. That's what I'll be doing anyway if I do camp out. Seetickets and that will be chaos, it was bad enough getting Liverpool tickets. The SOL will probably be the slowest of the tour to sell out but at the rate the websites process the orders you'll be on all day trying to book anyway. If I'm going to take a day off I might as well do the overnight thing. I'll probably not sleep the night before anyway thinking about a certain upcoming game

Getting tickets + beating the mags = perfect weekend imo . But yeah if I do camp out I hope the security and that is all in order so people who've just came aren't pushing to the front.

geordie fan i am . . . .. . . and cant beleive the boys are going to Scumberland Why not St James Park? with the bigger capacity etc. The capacity for football matches is 3000 more, not exactly a significant figure. The SOL is a better choice for gigs because of the way it is constructed, Level 7 at SJP would be too far away from the stage. Ive always heard newcastle is one of the best nights out, never ever ever heard of sunderland being one =\ Well give it a try then and it might surprise you. That's part of the reason I posted it. They are both cracking nights out, I'm lucky to live between the two. I prefer Sunderland though, Newcastle is too spread out and attracts too many up-there-own-arse spice boys and mentalist radgies. But anybody going drinking in either will have a good night.
