I was nearly gonna go to the 2005 msg gig but mate who said he'd go pulled out the bollox. Id love to go and see Oasis in South America. Fans are mad down there. Yes, we are. I'm trying to buy tickets for Wembley right now, but I'm almost giving up and buying tickets for Slane. Slane will be better. Irish fansmore madder than uk fans, Slane Castle is MAGICAL.

I'm looking forward to Slane but I've heard that it's a bitch of a hike? Any truth in this? I've never been there before. How far from Dublin is it or would it be better to book a place to stay in Meath??

You are best off gettin a bus/train/plane up to Dublin and getting one of the many shuttlebuses from O Connell Street/Parnell Street that bring you all the way to Slane and back after the gig. Bus ticket are usually around 15 euro or so to get there, journey takes around 1hr and half, good crack on the bus on the way to it though so the bus journey will fly by.

Got my Slane ticket this morning through my trusty local record store and despite seeing the boys in Belfast on Wednesday, I can't wait, but I guess I'll have to.
I couldn't even get to the store until 10:30 and was in a bit of a panic because they sold out in half an hour back in August, and when I approached the store and saw no queue I thought "Aw shite not again..." but to my overwhelming relief only a few had popped in to buy tickets and there was a ton left. It's tough to beat going to the record store the morning of ticket release and purchasing them first hand and being able to take them home with you, no headfrying ticketmaster bs or webpage timeouts and crashes, just a clean, crisp new ticket, nearly as good as album release day only not as instant as theres a good 8 months to wait lol

Cheers man, I'm from just outside Belfast, so basically Belfast lol, I've heard that rumor a few times aswell so there must be some truth if its so widespread but I've no idea of the distance between the Odyssey and Spring and Airbrake, only been to the Odyssey, I have a bus going home half an hour after the gig though so I don't know if I should take the risk, it would be mental craic though if it was on

No bother, me and three mates are headin to it and its our first Oasis gig so we're just gonna fuckin' 'ave it. Not sure if Slane will be better than the Odyssey, of course Slane will have the summer outdoor thing, but id assume its damn near impossible to get down near the front and at the Odyssey its easy enough. Doesnt matter, both gigs are gonna be absolutely top drawer, Wednesday should be the best Iv seen all year, and I've seen Rage, Metallica, The Verve, Kasabian, Muse, QOTSA, LP, Nickelback and Staind this year.

so seeing as i will be coming from the US for Slane gig, it's best to fly to Dublin and then take a bus or whatever out to Slane for the show? I think that's what I read earlier in this thread.....

Oasis' 2009 stadium tour broke all box office records when it went on sale this morning, selling a staggering 500,000 tickets by 3.00pm. We've had to scramble to put additional nights on sale in both London and Manchester after the band's two night runs at London's Wembley Stadium and Manchester's Heaton Park sold out in hours. Oasis first ever trip to Sunderland's City of Light Stadium has also sold out already.
NEWSFLASH: While writing this mail we've just learned that Oasis' Slane Castle concert had sold out by 4.00pm. This makes it the fastest ever selling show at this venue ahead of U2!!
Kasabian and The Enemy will be special guests on all UK shows. According to Noel, "These gigs are going to be easily the gigs of next year, if not the decade. They are gigs that go down in people's memories".
The third Manchester and London shows are selling fast and only a very limited number of tickets remain for Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin.
We can also let you know that Oasis will also being playing a show at Coventry's Ricoh Arena Stadium with The Enemy supporting on Tuesday the 7th July . This final show on Oasis 2009 summer tour does not go on sale until Thursday the 30th October at 9.00am.

Well, it's not 1996, but half a million tickets in a bunch of hours, and selling out Slane Castle like nothing...this is fucking huge. Sorry if there will be a lot of scumbags on ebay.
