I'm generally seeing good reviews in some of the major US news papers such as NY Times , USA Today etc . And then there are some spoilers like LA Times and Rolling Stone but the trend seems to be more positive in our press. Are Warner Bros / Big Bro treating critics to Dinner and Drinks or are they finally getting it ?

Yep, to be fair to the media over there, I've seen pretty much all positive reviews (apart from the Rolling Stone, who I wouldn't wish my enemy to read it).
Blimey, I've even seen a few articles claiming it to be their best ever!

I don't think that the person who wrote the review for RS can be cnsidered as a critic

right and good point. I maintained the same, they've been pretty consistently "good" but nothing too "excellent" from big hitters till the USA Today and All Music dittie's raved about it.
The NY times was a good one as I recall too.
Again, briefly: Spin 3 1/2 stars out of 5. Blender 3/5 stars. RS: 2 1/2 out of 5. But many newspapers critiques have been solid.
Always nice.
