....and it's negative ---------------- From UNCUT: “(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady” is a pretty funny title and not much more, but it gives us a breather before “Falling Down”, which implausibly enough, this late in the day, is one of the best songs Noel's ever written. Riding along on a downbeat echo of that “Tomorrow Never Knows” drum break, Noel complains of trying to talk to God to no avail, as the sun comes down on all he knows. “We live a dying dream, if you know what I mean,.” And for once you kind of do. Turns out we're not going to Live Forever after all. www.uncut.co.uk/news/uncut/news/12241------------------ UGHF, you're an idiot.

I love it, my favorite so far after the brief DOYS taste I've had. Lyrically great, and I'm always a sucker for any Noel-sung song.

Noel NEVER ONCE EVER SAID IT WAS POSITIVE. You, my non-friend, are the idiot of all idiots.
This claim ranks up there with some of your best - "BHN is a summer album", etc....You were dropped on the head as a baby, werent you? That's ok, cos so was Lions, go talk to him, you two can relate to eachother. Numpty.

Summer sun it blows my mind, very positive, as he's thinking human kind is incapable of destroying this , this thing of beauty
it's falling down on all that i've ever known
it's falling (ie as a sunset does seemingly) into the earth/world/society...everything that he knows of.
Time to kiss the world goodbye...again sun-related, the sun is kissing the world goodbye as it's setting
We live a dying dream. SOOOOOOOOOO Positive,, to live a dream is generally to be in a joyous state, and a dying dream is a joyous state that fades away.......like life. Yes we're not going to live forever but we sure as hell are going to be madferit
A dying scream, it makes no sound Calling out to all that I've ever known Here am I, lost and found Calling out to all
First two lines here are just another example of the noel paradox lyric.
whereas lost and found...hmmm he's been lost but now he's back on track how's that negative?
CAtch the wheel that breaks the butterfly-Positive, i know there's a wiki thing on it but taken literally you're stopping something with connations pf innocence being destroyed.
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide I tried to talk with God to no avail Calling my name from out of nowhere I said "If you won't save me, please don't waste my time"
Underlines independence here with the multiple I's, and showing that he indeed is his own god, and the fuck you attitude inherrent in the last line illustrates this also.
Also the chorus just sounds mega and makes you smile...another sign for me that this is positive.

So life is not positive dagiff? A dying dream? ok so, it's a negative description of something one feels positive about. Which is genius!

Also the chorus just sounds mega and makes you smile...another sign for me that this is positive. wow. the summer sun blows my mind. it's falling down on all that i've ever know. he is expressing the beauty in simple things. the summer sun is falling down. he is stating the best has been. the summer sun is FALLING DOWN. definitely a metaphor for the state of this world. time'll kiss the world goodbye. it's just a matter of time before it's over. self explanatory a dying scream makes no sound. no point in asking for help if your dying. if your dying. IF YOUR DYING. here am i? lost and found a state of confusion, am i here? am i thinking straight? asking questions. we live a dying dream. NEGATIVE. catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly. "progress" destroying nature. i tried to talk with god to no avail calling my name from out of nowhere i said "if you won't save me, please don't waste my time" not only is this negative. he is singing in desperation. the music is provocative. it's as if he is discovering there is no god. faith is pointless. falling down - Negative song falling down - Great song. great, great song. get a job at pitchfork. seriously.
