i recently remembered that in 8th grade (in the US) my teacher handed out this photocopied article on celebrities supporting illiteracy or not doing enough to promote literacy. one of the examples was that 'Liam Gallagher of oasis has claimed never to have read a book in his life.' of course i didnt become an oasis fan till 3 years later or so. i just thought this was amusing. has anyone else come across this or a similar article

I think Noel said the same thing in an interview. He said if he started reading books he would probably take over the world, so be happy he doesn't! haha

There are quotes from Noel on the back of various books saying it's the best thing he's ever read etc ("Shakey" the Neil Young biog, and "Revolution In The Head", the Beatles book) so he's talking shit somewhere...

I think people should stop taking everything Noel & Liam say seriously. They definitely like to take the piss in interviews.

I just watched the Appleton thing again the other day and Nic says she read the book she wrote with her sister to him because "Liam doesn't read." And he's like, "Can't be bothered."

Hmmm, I read an interview with Liam from the Heathen Chemistry era saying he was reading "Living on Borrowed Time" the Lennon biography by Frederic Seaman.
The end. (what a fucking pointlessly obnoxious way to end a post).

In the book 'Oasis Definitely' by Tim Abbot, Liam tells us that 'a book without pictures is a shit book'.

Actually that book by Frederick Seaman is called 'The Final Days of John Lennon' or at least that's what my book written by him is called.
And there was a quote (back in like 1996) where Liam once said his favourite book was The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Being a smartarse wanker , you've mistaken it for Nowhere Man, The Final Days of John Lennon by Robert Rosen.
