Maybe this has been asked previously on this forum but I couldn't find it...
Is there no Deluxe 2 CD or 2 CD+DVD set (without the vinyl)? I was sure that would be an option... I want to go to my record store next Tuesday and buy the whole thing with all the extra songs damn it!

That is such shit. I don't want a leak, I want the damn real thing. Such shit. I guess I need to buy the $100 "Redundant Edition" where I get six different formats of the same 11 songs just to get the bonus CD. No wonder people rely on leaks these days.

I predict a release... they're just waiting for ppl to buy up as many box sets as possible... DBTT was released with that bonus disc later on that had all the b-sides on it - at least in some stores...

I tried buying it online, and the site choked or something. They charged my card twice, but my order never went through! The customer service is shit from WB.... SO, no box set, just have to spend the next few days arguing the false charges |

Was just about to post the same question when I chanced upon your post.
I agree there should be a 2CD + DVD edition or just a simple 2 CD edition so we can get the bonus CD easily.
The problem with the super deluxe edition for me is that
1) I have no turntable, so the vinyls would be rather useless
2) The boxset is quite large so I won't be able to display the album along with the rest of my CD collection. The boxset would likely be sitting in a corner of my room gathering dust.

I think they were hoping to cash in on those who wanted the bonus CD, but the album was always going to leak anyway so who is going to pay £50 for something they already have and something they have no use for? |

It's going to be available in some stores, at least in the UK and Europe, as it leaked because HMV got it in early. I wouldnt be surprised if a few large American chains (i.e. Virgin) and some mom and pop stores end up with a few as well, but it wont be an easy find outside of large cities I assume. I skipped it for all the reasons everyone else has thrown out. The price wasn't a turnoff, its just the overall use of it. Its a pretty set and I like what they've done with it, but the only reason I wanted it in the first place was the bonus disc as the rest of the stuff is useless to me. |
