tough one, innit?
I think my 3 favorite bands are Oasis, The Smiths, and The Stone Roses.....but I don't know which one of the latter two I like more
The Smiths have a far great collection of tunes, and some real crackers: Cemetery Gates, How Soon Is Now, Reel Around the Fountain, Charming Man, Still Ill, Hand In Glove, Frankly Mr Shankly, Rubber Glove, What She Said, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, Big Mouth Strikes Again, The Boy with the Thorn in His Side (FUCKING TUNE!!!!!!!!)and There's a Light that Never Goes Out (again - FUCKING TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).....
The Stone Roses are fantastic too, and could have been huge if they didnt have such a douche of a manager with tunes such as:
Sally Cinnamon, Elephant Stone, I Am the Resurrection, Fools Gold, I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drums, Made of Stone, How Do You Sleep, Where Angels Play, Mersey Paradise, Going Down.....
I think if push comes to shove, The Smiths gets the edge from me, although having so many more tunes gives them an advantage
Two amazing bands if you ask me

fuck that. While they're of course a good band and all their praise is indeed warranted, they are still INCREDIBLY over rated and hyped to a huge extent. The Beatles don't even crack my top 3. Evidently. Oasis, The Smiths, Stone Roses, I prefer all 3 to the Beatles. |

Stone Roses for me. I enjoy the smiths. Just the overall vibe of the roses is better, for me at least. You have 3 of the most talented musicians of the past 30 years in that band. Reni is easily in the top 3 of my personal favorite drummers. Mani is a genius at the bass. How many classic basslines has he made? I mean when i heard I wanna be adored that bass line was just so catchy. John Squire is my favorite overall guitarist. Tears and I'am The Resurrection have some of the best solo's ever. Morrissey has a good voice and its better than Ian Browns but still that can't make up the the rest. Johnny Marr is another great guitarist and has written some of the best guitar riffs ever but I still prefer Squire. With the roses you can dance, rock out, and lose your self in their songs. They are masters at epics and one of the best jam bands out there. The Smiths are a great band but the Roses are just better for me at least. While we are talking about top 3 favorite bands, I'll give you my top 5, oasis, the verve, the beatles, the who, the stone roses.

The Smiths/The Stone Roses are viewed with equal prefernce by UGHF.
Panic! Is awesome when you're walking through the city on a misty rainy morning (preferably in winter)
