Seriously. Who the fuck cares how close you are to the Chief. I picked up the cheaper $53 tickets because they were, erm, cheaper. And of course I would like to be as close as possible, but in reality it doesn't matter. Honestly, there's not much to see at a concert, especially at an Oasis gig where none of the band members really move. It's a concert, not a movie - I bet blind people would have just as much fun. It's all about the atmosphere and great music. The ability to sing back the tunes at the top of you lungs and not sound like a pillock. The notion that your sharing your passion and excitement with 25,000+ like minded people. At the end of the day, no matter where you sit, you will still be able to belt back "don't look back in anger" and many other classics, while punching your fist in the air with excitement, and being surrounded by just as passionate people, while you witness the best band in the world. Now honestly tell me that seating matters, cos it really doesn't. Mad for it, roll on December 19th and the Camden, NJ gig

Well ya know the sound mix and the video/lighting is designed for how it will look and sound in the middle of the venue. I could see how shitty seats with poor sightlines where the sound is gonna be crap would lead to someone being upset...

Indeed...he says there's nothing to see at an Oasis show. Evidently he didn't see the lighting rig on the last tour and the rig they used on the first leg of the Canadian tour last month...Or ya know, when Noel got tackled...
Nothing to see! Hah!

If you're going to gigs to see a fucking light show then you're going for the wrong reasons. I'm not unhappy with my seats (row 202, section M) - although far away it is in the center and not on the flanks. We're talking about Oasis here, not some shitty amateur band or Coldplay (sorry, just had to)....the sound will be pretty much universal and fine no matter where you sit. Really, stop bitching and just enjoy the experience.......

I just spent $700 on 2 shows (4 tickets each) today, so I'm free to bitch about the crappy seats I received from the 10 AM "pre-sale" whenever I choose...

I stopped trying after TM kept on giving me lousy seats all the way on the other side of the arena. This pre-sale was absolute shite. The last pre-sale for MSG had much better seats than this one...I know people (including myself) who got floor sections 1-4. Everything for this one seemed to have started with sections 5 onward. I'll try my luck again this Friday.

I'll enjoy the shows, but I would have expected better.

Love em or hate em, Coldplay does an excellent job making the people in the back feel like they are part of the show. I was in the middle of the hollywood bowl when I saw Oasis perform, and I still felt more energy at the coldplay gig. Just my experience, Im not saying coldplay is nearly as great as oasis

You're absolutely wrong. It's about being witht the people who are the best fans front and center. And it sounds 1000 times more colossal when you're ten feet away from the stage.

Hah! he sound will be pretty much universal and fine no matter where you sit. How many concerts have you been to? I ask because this probably the most one of the most idiotic things you have ever said, especially in regards to an arena the size of MSG. Concerts can sound very different when you take into account where your seats are. You will hear something different in terms of resonance considering how far back and up you are compared to someone 10 or 20 rows from the stage on the floor. The atmospheres are also completely different as the energy is not the same in the back of the arena. Its also perfectly logical and expected for people not to be completely happy with less than optimal seats when taking into account paying $50+ to see their favorite band.

where you are at a gig does matter, and the fact all the US shows seem to be seats seems stupid to me.

Last tour I had a 3 row rule, now for Seattle and all of Canada I upgraded to front row for every show. The experience is completely different up front. Generally you get a very enthusiastic crowd and you really feel like you're a part of the show. A lot of shows where I'm half way back I get sticks in the mud around me that complain about me standing, singing etc. Scew that, I like letting loose at the front.

See, now that's unnecessarily expensive... I used to have a front row rule for all GA shows that I went to. I got tired of hearing overbearing stage volume and no vocals!
